There is, but it's not shot from that angle. That's probly just some lucky fan with a camera. "J'ai Pas Vingt Ans" - Les 100 Ans Du Tour De France (MPG)<---above
  2. IMHO best of the 3. Actually contains a genuinely sad moment. 8/10. Great writing made up for Brett Ratner.

Tim Burton is a hit or miss director. I'm really not a fan of his work - but there are some who are. It's an acquired taste, I'd think.

Yeah, and Brosnan started aging real quick. From what I know of Eon they wanted an actor that could play Bond for a bunch of movies instead of 3 or so before starting to show their age. But you're right, Owen doesnt' need Bond, he has a good career already.

Those are about the Joker and the Penguin/Catwoman. Batman Begins is about Batman - and he's the best superhero.

Clive Owen is too old, we'd have geriatric-Bond in 2 movies again like we did with Roger Moore or Pierce Brosnan in Die Another Day (watch Goldeneye then Die Another Day in order...it's quite a drop off). Jude Law is too much of a lightweight. Eric Bana woulda been alright. George Clooney is American. Go rent Layer Cake and tell me again if you think Daniel Craig sucks. If it's purely a looks argument, when, well - I don't care enough to argue that.
  8. None. Not even established Hollywood actresses have acting ability. Oh, you said successful. Answer is probably still none. Josie Maran had more crossover appeal and attitude than pretty much all of these chicks (and more movie roles) and didn't stick.

That may or may not be true, but unlike Pierce Brosnan, he can, you know - act.

With the reviews this is getting... Well, if it makes money, he might make another. Ron Howard isn't known for doing sequels (or in this case, prequels)

Which goes back to my original point from my review; The DaVinci Code wouldn't make a good movie because it's all exposition and people standing around explaining stuff. You can't get rid of the exposition because that's all the book really is. Angels and Demons doesn't have as much of that, and would transition more effectively to the movie format - even if the overall story is weaker. The best novel adaptation coming to theaters this year is Casino Royale. Book it

Yes, but in book form it doesn't bother me. Pacing in a film, especially a thriller, is very important. I love history. But there's a difference between being in a history class with a good teacher and being in one with a bad teacher. Same goes for movies, there are good historical fiction movies and bad ones - and this one, a thriller, is paced like a drama - but too silly to be dramatic. /heck, I took the AP History tests without the classes //i liked the parts where they used CGI to blend in the history... I just didnt like watching a movie that was basically the characters standing around reading from the book

The best movies to compare the Da Vinci Code to are the Tom Clancy movies, believe it or not. Replace the military/intelligence theme with a symbology/religious theme and the rest is basically the same. Except the Clancy movies have better villains. My problem with the movie (which isn't as much of a big deal in book form) is that 95% of the time its just a bunch of guys standing around talking. It's all exposition, all the time.

Da Vinci Code Film: 6/10. The acting was better, except for the usually brilliant Hanks who was miscast, than I expected. But the pacing was exactly as I predicted. I read "Angels & Demons" first, and while I felt that story was weaker, it read like a movie. "The Da Vinci Code" carries on too long and has lots of downtime for a movie thriller. Big props to Paul Bettany as Silas and Ian McKellan as Sir Leigh Teabing. Jean Reno was good in his limited screentime, Audrey Tautou was pretty and adaquete as Sophie Neveu, but there isn't much to that character. For such a long movie, the only memorable scene takes place at the end of the movie...beginning with the razor accident. However, I loved the CGI sequences that blended history with the movie events. Basically, due to the source material being ill-suited to the movie format, the best this movie was going to be was a 7/10. Casting Tom Hanks, a great actor, seemed to have been a mistake, as he didn't show the passion of the novel's Robert Langdon and simply looked out of place in the movie.

In that they're all talented? Yes. In that they actually fit the roles? No.
