  1. I don't have the need to see her as an Angel but I doubt that she would be a disaster. For some reason pictures from Liverpool Fashion Fest remind me of the style of photo ops that Angels do and I like the pictures a lot! She would probably look the same even when paired up. 2. ^ Who knows what will happen an important cover, publicity for a movie, (new boyfriend...), SI... I wonder if the Designer Collection was too expensive for their customers. One bra and a thong combination would have cost over $300 (and that's excluding any extra frills). As a result, were sales not as hoped and part of the blame is put on the model because they track every picture?
  3. Shameless. They should start using Barbara now before her career blows up so they won't have to resort to recycling her pictures too.
  4. L'Oreal Paris USA tweeted this: And L'Oreal Paris Canada this: Do you guys think that she might shoot for Sports Illustrated or would that be an unwise career move right now?
  5. From her Instagram: The previously mentioned "engagement" picture:
  6. Her implants seem a little too obvious to me. Her look is more Maxim and FHM. She should try Esquire. Still, it's great that she has found a way to get a modelling career. I'm sure there are lots of girls with similar looks who have given up before they even started. I'd like to see SI try to be one of the things a successful fashion model would want to do (while of course trying to find new faces). Stay exclusive! I wonder if Miranda would be up for it now that she is no longer contracted as an Angel?
  7. Yeah and they really put her in an embarrassing situation basically forcing her to defend herself / deflect when she had already shot with them. In any case, I thought the pictures were beautiful (not trashy in the least) and I wondered why they didn't have her do catalogue / swim.
  8. When people who have belittled you in the past try to pretend like nothing untoward happened... That's when you know you've made it!

    Candids

Those pictures of her wearing a cap make her look like she should be in an action movie! I wonder how come she has no interest to go to Cannes unless she has decided to forgo her acting plans.
  10. Videos of Doutzen at Cannes 2013:
  11. Have you guys heard of The Bling Ring by Sofia Coppola? It's based on a case about these teenagers who would target celebrities' homes. Orlando's and Miranda's home was also burglarized. Excerpts from a Vanity Fair article about the case: “Miranda Kerr, a Victoria’s Secret model, was dating Orlando Bloom, and Rachel [Lee] wanted Victoria’s Secret model clothes,” said Prugo. Lee’s lawyer, Peter Korn, would say only, “I don’t want to participate in the media attention in this case.” Whenever they robbed celebrities’ homes, Prugo said, it went like this: “You grabbed a suitcase and filled it up with whatever you wanted.” He said Lee called it “going shopping.” “In [bloom’s] master bedroom, Rachel found a stash of Rolexes and, like, fifteen hundred dollars. Alexis grabbed a Louis Vuitton laptop-size bag and she was rocking it as a purse. Miranda Kerr had a dress there by Alex Perry—like, a one-of-a-kind runway dress. She took that.” http://www.vanityfai...re-girls-201003 Now the writer has a book coming out and she was interview for an article titled: Nancy Jo Sales on Her New Book, The Bling Ring, and Why the Band of Teenage Thieves Stole Miranda Kerr’s Underwear The book gives much more detail of the branding and look of certain expensive tween-marketed merchandise. I’m thinking about when you describe the connection between Victoria Secret’s Pink line and why Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr was a target for the Bling Ring. It’s really alarming to find out, through doing the research for the book, about the explosion of teen and even child lingerie. That market has become a billion-dollar market. Like teddies for teenagers—it’s so disturbing. Their obsession with underwear had something to do with this whole “pornification” thing. They wanted to look sexy. Looking sexy in a celebrity’s clothes, well that’s even sexier. Especially Miranda Kerr, who’s a Victoria’s Secret model. The fact that they stole the underwear just seems so weird, but it’s not weird when you think about it, because they’re growing up at a time when their culture is constantly telling them to be sexy. Everything from toys to video games to music to fashion is hypersexualized for girls. Stealing their underwear was part of a whole trend to emulate these celebrities. They don’t just want expensive underwear; they want Paris Hilton’s underwear. http://www.vanityfai...s-sofia-coppola
  12. No problem Nazara! (Just wanted to make sure no one thought that I was bashing her.) I enjoy reading your commentary! You know Candice did once talk about how fun a reality show about Victoria's Secret would be and I agree
  13. Well I was just trying to point out that because she comes from South Africa, family owned a farm etc. might be the basis of those rumours spreading. Doesn't mean that she actually is. I didn't think that making fun of Adriana would be based on racism. I speculated about the reasons why that apparently happened.
  14. I could see the racism (rumours) come into play because even in South Africa there is tension between whites and blacks and when you take into consideration the fact that Candice's family is white and owned a farm... Talks about her making fun of a Brazilian accent etc. is a little confusing because her boyfriend is Brazilian. So it leads me to wonder whether Candice has heard something more because she knows Portuguese or because she thinks she knows how cool Brazilians behave and she feels like Adriana / whomever don't fit the part? Out of all the girls, I would say that Lily seems to be the nicest consistently. You can just tell she is so happy and honored to be an Angel.
  15. Yes, it does seem that way between Candice and those two and this is from another forum. Oh no, now I'm going to be stuck reading all the info on there! Some might be made up lies but on the other hand even VS models can't always fake body language so it shows in videos.
  16. Whaaat XD XD Oh I knew she wasn't just this Earth Mother. It was kind of funny to see her new incarnation. But a very cool story you have about Josie! Good video TKC, clearly shows that calls for Miranda and Candice were the most frequent so competition arises easily?
  17. That Candice story reminds me of this video: There seemed to be tension between the girls, just look at the body language. And Candice misses the ending but they didn't try to shoot it again... I would actually love to know how things are really behind the scenes. Like I remember how Miranda and Rosie seemed to be really good friends, sharing a birthday party etc. but later that seemed to disappear. Oh yeah... Like I remember listening to her Howard Stern interview and I was really turned off by her stripper story (not that she was in a strip club but the attitude / vibe I was getting).
  18. Wow crazy story about Candice...! Yeah I can believe some people not having a warm impression about her. She can pull off a bitch face! Also this interview was bad: The interviewer is cringeworthy but I did feel bad for her because of the looks Candice and Erin kept giving her. I don't think that showed a lot of professionalism (since we have talked about who are the best as spokesmodels). I think Miranda handled her better here:
  19. Thank you for the answers! You know I suspect that she has boxed herself in this "pure and modest woman" corner. I mean there was this interview where these ladies asked about her Superbowl commercial and her comments on it because it had that "Give and you shall receive" line. Now everyone knows what it was hinting about and it would have been a great place for some tongue-in-cheek comments but she kept playing oblivious and insisted it meant flowers!
  20. Or give at least a synopsis about the unedited interviews! Is she a bitch or what? And I was also surprised to see Karlie in number one on your list. I mean Karlie's high fashion body etc. might not really appeal to the average housewife (might appeal to her teenage daughters). And what did you mean by:
  21. Doutzen is doing amazing! Just today I walked past H&M and saw a big beautiful picture of Doutzen. She is truly untouchable as far as contracts go: Victoria's Secret + L'Oreal + Tiffany & Co. and now H&M. Others should take note. It would have been crazy to see Doutzen and Miranda go at the same time!
  22. What I meant by rehearsed lines and having a language barrier is that when there was a new specific feature about a product that Adriana would have to inform the audience about she would utter a few sentences that were clearly thought of by someone else because of the choice of words etc. but I don't mind that as much because many wouldn't be confident enough to wing it in a foreign language. I was thinking of moments like around 1.45: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErrTEEcKv8Q However, someone like Lindsay who grew up speaking English should be able to relate to the audience in her own words more or less. Prettyphile, I have wondered about why she kept struggling so much with English. I came to the conclusion that ultimately the reason was that she continued to get away with it. Just be a beautiful model, smile big and no one will care!
  23. Lindsay has great potential because there is no other Angel who carries herself the same way that she does. She is so prim and proper and her princess like prettiness adds to it. She just needs to stop memorising what she is going to say because very few can pull that off like Tyra when she was promoting Body by Victoria (and I'm not looking for perfection either): I can forgive someone like Adriana saying rehearsed lines because there is a language barrier. Some of the girls should study Marisa when it comes to talking to reporters. And ban the word comfortable, it has become redundant because I've heard them describe so many products that way! Now whenever someone describes a bra etc. as "comfortable" it tells me they really have not put any effort into the spokesmodel aspect of their job. And don't rush to sell the product! The interviewers are professionals, they'll get to it. Especially if they are men because it is an opportunity for jokes when they are holding lace panties in their hands.
