Gorillaz Genre: Alternative Rap/Hip-Hop, Rap/Hip-Hop, Alternative/Punk, Crossover Rap/Hip-Hop, Indie Rock Biography from Rollingstone.com The Gorillaz' image may be cartoonish, but with artists like Del the Funky Homosapian, Dan the Automator, and members of Blur, Cibo Matto, and Tom Tom Club contributing, their music is anything but lightweight. Experimental in nature and obtuse in scope, the Gorillaz' sound melds Damon Albarn's sharp pop sensibilities with Dan the Automator's eclectic bass-heavy, beat-driven hip hop. And although the combination doesn't always gel, when they hit the mark, it's usually with a bull's eye. Biography from launch.com Conceived as the first virtual hip-hop group, Gorillaz blends the musical talents of Dan "The Automator" Nakamura, Blur's Damon Albarn, Cibo Matto's Miho Hatori, and the Tom Tom Club's Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz with the arresting visuals of Jamie Hewlett, best known as the creator of the cult comic Tank Girl. Nakamura's Deltron 3030 cohorts Kid Koala and Del tha Funkee Homosapien round out the creative team behind the Gorillaz quartet, which includes 2-D, the cute but spacy singer/keyboardist, Murdoc, the spooky, possibly Satanic bassist who is the brains behind the group, drummer Russel, who is equally inspired by "Farrakhan and Chaka Khan" and is possessed by "funkyphantoms" that occasionally rise up and provide some zombie-style rapping, and last but not least, Noodle, a ten-year-old Japanese guitar virtuosa and martial arts master. The group's website, www.gorillaz.com, showcases Hewlett's visuals and the group's music in eye- and ear-catching detail. Gorillaz debuted in late 2000 with the Tomorrow Comes Today EP, which they followed early the next year with the Clint Eastwood single; their self-titled full-length debut arrived in spring 2001 in the U.K. ~ Heather Phares , All Music Guide

I would suggest "Things Fall Apart". That is a CLASSIC!!! Too bad Malik B. is no longer part of the group. His drug problem became too much for the other Roots members to handle.

Mixed people kick-ass, but why do you envy us? We haven't exactly been treated well historically... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ain't that the TRUTH!!! History has been very unkind to is MIXED FOLKS!!! My moms is mulatto, and she has faced a lot of racism, from both Blacks and Whites, and has often been mistaken for Hispanic.

Well, that is true, mixed people are much BETTER LOOKING THAN NON-MIXED!!! The finest models, actresses, and singers are all MIXED!!! I mean, look how HOT I AM!!! I'm Black, German, Cherokee, Creole(Black French), English, and possibly some Irish.

WOW!!! Jermain Taylor FINALLY DETHRONED THE GREAT BERNARD HOPKINS!!! Unfortunaely, controversy in involved. Many believed that Hopkins won the fight. It does have merit. Compubox numbers do favor Hopkins in most categories. However, I saw the fight, and as far as I'm concerned, Hopkins lost a good and close fight to Jermain. Jermain seemed to dominate most of the early rounds. Bernard finally figured him out. He won the last 4 rounds, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!! HURT JERMAIN ON MANY OCCASIONS TOO!!!! However, he couldn't finish Jermain off and with Jermain gaining and early lead, he won via split decision. However, there is a rematch clause in the contract should Hopkins lost, and he did, so I'm guessing he will exercise that clause.

Get this: Ricky Hatton is a free agent!!! http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/co...d=2098079&num=2 That being said, Hatton has a lot of say about who he will fight next. No need to fuck around with N'dou, Maussa, or the other scrubs at 140. Let's make Hatton-Mayweather happen ASAFP!!! 02.07.05 @ 21:33:26

Sha, did you see that Mayweather-Gatti fight? Mayweather TAPPED THAT ASS!!!Mayweather was TOO QUICK, TOO SKILLED, and yes, EVEN TOO POWERFUL FOR GATTI!!! Mayweather didn't run at ALL!!! He stood in the pocket, and beat Gatti to the punch every time. Plus, he HURT GATTI ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS!!! After the 6th round, Gatti's corner decided to stop the fight. MAYWEATHER IN 6!!! TKO!!! I LOVE IT, MAYN!!!

Dodgers are coming back STRONG!!! Kinda a shock, given all the injuries they have. However, that shows how good of a team L.A. has. When our guys go down, we have players ready to pick up the slack. THINK BLUE!!!

Cotto did pretty good. He boxed smart and eventually had the fight stopped, and this time it was justified. Sha, do you think Cotto needs a few more fights, or is he ready take on the likes of Hatton, Gatti and Mayweather?

Tyson is a FUCKING CIRCUS ACT!!! <_< I'm not gonna buy that shit. I'll save my money to buy some REAL BOXING!!! Cotto is I-ight, but if he wins this one, it's time to step up to a REAL CHAMP!!!Ricky Hatton has a clear schedule. Is he down to come to the states? Does either Gatti or Mayweather have plans past June 25th. I saw that Ricky Hatton was for real. Now, I wanna see if Cotto is for real.

Well, Ricky Hatton came to fight and fight well, and that is what he did. He made Kostya QUIT!!! While I was disappointed that Kostya lost, I have to give Ricky his props. It looks like he might fight the winner of Mayweather-Gatti. However, he will have to step out of his comfort zone in Manchester to do so. I doubt that Mayweather, Gatti, or even Cotto will set foot on foreign soil.

Should be good, but I don't think it will be competitive. I've seen both Ricky Hatton and Kostya Tszyu fight many times, and given the level of opponents each fighter has faced, I see Kostya dominating this fight. I pick Kostya to KO OR TKO OR KTFO OF HATTON IN 8 ROUNDS!!! Mayn, I !!!
