  4. Making it in the oven is an excellent choice. It's beef, right? If so, it would only need salt. Oh and maybe putting some sliced garlic in it I've never done it that way but grilling it could be an option though it's more complicated and it would take a long time since you'd have to cook it veeeery slowly. I'm assuming it has the bones, right? If it doesn't then the grill is not that complicated.
  5. Oh, that steak looks nice! It was almost a year ago, I have no idea But here's more grilled stuff This was back in February I think. Mostly short ribs and I don't remember what the other cut was. Grille by me of course These I grilled for my mom's birthday back in December. All rib-eye. Also incredible And this was the first meal I had in New York last week. This was a strip loin (or was it a rib-eye? It was probably a rib-eye now that I remember). And it was so good It came with fries and a cornbread.

  17. Before Aegon Targaryen's conquest (roughly 300 years before the events in the show and books) the Seven Kingdoms were precisely that: seven independent kingdoms that corresponded more or less with the territories of the great lords: The North, The Vale, The Riverlands (+ the Iron Islands), the Kingdom of the Rock (Westerlands), The Stormlands, The Reach and Dorne (to be strict, Dorne wasn't an actual kingdom but a princedom). They would usually fight each other and were rarely at peace. Aegon conquered and unified six of these seven kingdoms (Dorne would be incorporated later) into a single one but the name of the Seven Kingdoms stuck. Politically this is a feudal system, where the King is the first of all Lords. His immediate vassals being the lords of the lands mentioned (the North, Stormlands, ect), having them in turn their own lesser vassals and so on. His power is more or less that of feudal kings in history. He has nominal power over the whole kingdom but that power is limited by distances and the pressure of the nobility. Of course, the first Targaryens, having dragons had it easier in terms of authority. And it doesn't matter if Bran was chosen by a council. He is still the king with all the powers and authority the title has. So it's still a monarchy. Even if not inheritable.
