  14. That's the thing, I don't know what to decide! I hear everyone's point (all valid) and I don't know what's the best way to resolve the issue It wasn't so much keeping everyone happy but try to find a middle ground in which most of us could at least feel neutral and are able to move forward. Also, when it comes down to it, it is the Competition's Runner that makes the final call on what he/she thinks is best. However that doesn't mean others are not allowed to express their opinions. I think the moment the link was posted in Liz's thread it skewed the round b/c it made the "playing field" un-leveled for both competitors That was why I suggested a do-over of some sort and/or revisit the issue at a later time when a possible solution might come to mind or occur ---------- Hailee
  15. Is it possible to move on to the next round and revisit the Liz vs. Kate situation at a later time? Maybe call it a draw for now and see how other rounds go? The scores for the other rounds might change things so Liz and Kate won't have to go against each other anymore? Just trying to find solutions so we could at least meet halfway
  16. Maybe we could make an exception for this round by re-doing the whole round and posting a link of the re-do in both Liz & Kate's thread. We could set a time limit for voting (like an hour or so) and who ever gets the most votes when time expires wins. What do you think @peroxideblonde? That is way too much pressure & responsibility on me
  17. Anyway we could do a re-do of some sort?
  18. We usually don't do bulk PM's or site wide announcement unless it is something that involves board administration or the site in general (like upgrades, possible down times, etc.). The last time we did a bulk PM was about 3 or 4 yrs ago when we switch to a new server and that took forever for the system to process and send out all the PM's. We try to be conservative and mindful about the site-wide announcements we post
  19. What exactly happened and what are the issues? I have a general idea but not a full understanding so if someone would like sum it up for that would be great Not sure would this info. be helpful or even relevant, but I remember a couple yrs ago in one of Pretty's competitions someone posted a link in Candice's thread and she got an influx of voters (most of them rarely participate in competitions) giving high scores to Candice. She ended deleting the questionable votes bc she didn't think it was fair. Whether or not that was the correct approach is subjective and based on the Competition's Runner's best judgement. Personally I don't think links to competitions should posted in competitors' threads to solicit votes unless it is absolutely necessary---like there has been a tie for 3 or more days. Again it should only be use as a last resort when all other more appropriate methods were unsuccessful. And if links are posted it should be in all relevant threads to make it more fair for the competitors. That's just my opinion Maybe for the current situation there could be some sorta compromise? Like somehow partially count the questionable votes or count them all as 1 or 2 votes? Let me know your thoughts
