Am I the only one who feels like it's stupid to keep revealing rookies after the cover is out already? Also the cover was revealed so early to avoid leaks for sure.

Already a bad sign of wondering these kind of things I'm sure she will do well, just like last year and average years. The real question is if she'll sell more than the usual years and be like say Kate Upton or Marisa Miller which are both known to be the best-selling issues in the last decade Again, I don't see how this could go wrong, it's Sports Illustrated all you need is a hot girl in a bikini and they delivered, I'm sure 99% of guys who buy the magazine every year per tradition give zero fucks about who is in the cover as long as they get that.

Congratulations to Hannah! She looks beautiful, this is my favorite cover since 2010 by a lot. I'm glad she got it, she is IMO the stand out this year

I'm not 100% sure but I think I remember reading once that Bar was promised the 2008 cover but she opened her mouth about it and SI got mad and the cover ultimately went to Marisa Miller. I don't know how true this is tho but I can see SI being annoyed at that kind of attitude. Kate's pedigree was enough to nab her the cover. Congressmen uncle, connections to the white house, a billionaire family and one of the largest known manufacturing companies in the world standing behind her. Kate didn't need a man, she had money, and connections and those things win everything in America. More importantly: SI knew she would sell. End of story. It's a business and they want to sell as many magazines as possible while pleasing as many people as they can (swimsuit designers, staff, etc.). Time will tell if Hannah was a good or bad choice but I honestly don't see how this cover could be something too awfully wrong that will stop people from buying.

I posted everrrywhere it would be Hannah up until Travel Channel said the cover shot was taken in Hawaii, out of that group Gigi was the only one who made sense ... As it turns out TC was wrong (or simply poor writting) and Hannah got it. But overall and considering all the girls I said it'd be Hannah and everyone was like "fuck noup". I'm going back to bed but once I am fully awake i'll my post explaining my reasoning as to why it would be Hannah

i don't think her dad is american, "Ratajkowski" isn't polish? Nope, he is American. She comes from Polish and Irish according to Wiki but both her parents are Americans and so is she, maybe she has dual citizenship but girlfriend is American.

However, her parents are American, she was raised in California, hell she doesn't even have British accent because she has lived in in the US sincce she was five And Ashley's ad is just an ad, nothing else. She won't be featured in the magazine and most likely her name won't be there at all.

In 2008 Karolina had like three extra pounds and everyone called her fat and other not so nice things so I just find it very annyoning and hypocrite for people to now ask for diversity after all the shit that was thrown (probably by those same people) to models before for not being perfect. I think overall the standards in the fashion are ridiculous and the fact that Robyn or Crystal Renn who are about the average size for women are considered "plus size" makes want to laugh and cry a little because it's just wrong. I think it's ridiculous the way VS casts their models but even more ridiculous is to just troll VS about it just because they are VS but other companies get away with whatever they want. After all, VS just follows a standard. I have a friend who used to work in La Senza (owened by LB so i assume is the same) and what she told me was that they don't usually sell sizes too small (AA cups or XXS) or too big (DD+ or XXL) because they don't sell much and it's a waste of money for them to have them in store. I think VS range from XS to XL is just fine and covers the vast majority of people, otherwise they wouldn't control 35% of the industry would they? Just like being large doesn't mean you are not curvy, it doesn't mean that being large automatically means you are curvy either and as Jennka pointed out the problem here is that some people want to throw "curvy" or "womanly" for cases that are just overweight and such. I've been size 0 or XS (even smaller sometimes) and really short my entire life and finding clothes has always been a bitch for me but I don't go around complaining about it and I don't see anyone campaining for stores to make smaller clothes either. And as far as fantasy being different for everyone, last time I checked VS didn't force people to buy their shit or watch their show so buying their products, subscribing to catalogs and watchig their show is a personal choice so for those who don't like it and still do it they are just idiots with too much free time in their hands.

I love Gigi. I'm glad someone besides me sees this. She's cute and hot at the same time. Very natural. I really don't care who her mother is. I'm sure not going to hold that against her. She sure stands out even among the most beautiful girls I agree, Gigi and Emily D outshine Barbara and Lottie completely.I get she can't please everyone because that is impossible but at the absolute worst no one can deny that Gigi does have a killer body that will please the average male SI buyer if she does get the cover. That combined with the fact that she also has a very large female following that would probably buy the magazine for her and that she also had a huge year in modelling + handles PR perfectly, to me it just makes sense to put her on the cover. Tbh I think SI knew Gigi would be the cover girl all along, I'm saying this based on two swimsuits I saw her wearing that scream cover try to me and I didnt't see any other girl wearing anything like it.
