I'm 99% sure Charlotte got the callback too, there's no other reason for her to be in NYC tbh, she's based in LA and it makes no sense for her to stay in NYC over Labor Day if it wasn't for this as she is not a FW fixture.

This was the first casting for a lot of girls tho, so I'm hopeful maybe next year some of them will make it. Not that many girls book the show in their first try, especially if they don't come from a strong background. I'm hopeful Rosmary, Lini, I-Hua and others will have better luck next year

I don't think we'll get Miley and Ariana tho. And since Miley is pretty much confirmed due to the lip sync video, it feels unlikely. I like Cardi's music so I'd be fine with that but I don't see VS being her type of gig. Niall's tour is almost over and he's gonna go MIA after that tho so I don't think he'd be doing the show, he's been quite vocal about wanting a big break after the touring and stuff. Liam and Zayn are far more likely IMO

It's a very very rare thing fit models get rejected but it has happened before, like one or two times. Can't remember if it was Alessandra in 1999 and Lindsay Ellingson in 2006, they both were fit models but didn't walk the show. It's a bit of a dick move but it has happened, you gotta remember John, Ed and Monica (3/4 of the people involved in the castings) aren't there for a lot of the pre-show stuff so they don't see the fit models that often like Todd or Sophia do, so there is a very very small chance they won't make the cut. I'm pretty sure we'll see them all this year but the fact even them have to go to callbacks instead of being counted in already says that while they are one step ahead of the others, they are still not really confirmed to walk.

They have done this for years tho, do you really think Natasha Poly and Naomi Campbell went to castings back in the day? hell, Natasha didn't even go for castings in 2014 and got the show until she decided to drop them last minute. Irina Shayk also didn't do castings in 2016. This has always been a thing. Dilone and Devon did castings last year, Barbara Fialho has done castings every year even tho she's the #1 fitting model. It's a very rare thing i.e you are a big name, you're getting an outfit molded for you or something like that. They are not being generous at all. I expect to see all the vets at the casting except the Hadids and Alexina, everyone else I'm pretty sure will go to the casting.

They are a thing. Bella and Gigi didn't do castings last year, Alexina is not going to castings this year I think because she's currently in Slovenia and I highly doubt she'll make it back to NYC before the 5th and there is absolutely no way in hell that she won't walk this year. We also know Sui didn't do castings last year (we saw her in the fittings doing her bodysuit way earlier in the year) and I expect her and Ming to not do castings this year tbh. However, these are rare, I expect to see most of vets this week

Olivia Culpo won't make it, she's bound to be the one crying because no one takes her as seriously. I-Hua with short hair looks way way better, she's one of the girls I'm bitter that didn't make it. However, this was her first time trying and maybe her walk wasn't the greatest? I'm hoping she'll make it kast year. It's not too often that girls book the show on their first year, I doubt her "not being Asian enough" was the reason. +1 to this. Times have changed and VS been really struggling lately, so I completely understand why they would go for commercial girls who will reach more clients. I would also not compare the instagirls (or most of them) to glamour models. These women all have good agencies and work for other brands, sure you won't find them doing Dior shows and campaigns but they have worked with other commercial companies and magazines in the same ranks as VS. VS ain't no HF brand, their target audience are average american women so they need models who will reach them and sell those brans and panties, I don't really understand why some people talk about VS as if it was holier than thou when it's really in the same rank as Forever 21, American Eagle and all those other american brands, all they want from us is to pay $55 for a bra and $10 for panties.

I think Shanina, Hannah and Nadine may walk this year, they have the new Model Squad show coming out pretty sure and VS could really use that free PR of the girls during the show prep and all that. Devon and Daniela are for sure walking but I think the other three could benefit from it

All the girls who walked last year were (allegedly) invited straight to callbacks, hence why we haven't seen any of them yet. They are expected to attend tomorrow and Wednesday.

Maggie Laine walked at 17 but there's a chance her agency lied, wouldn't be the first time

Alannah Walton is working out today with Michael, safe to say she made it to callbacks because why else would she be working out on a Sunday o.o

Not really, I'm not sure about Kaia, Gigi & Bella's numbers but it is known that Kendull has lost contracts due to poor sales, specifically like Estee Lauder had to drop the entire line she was meant to promote because it did not sell well at all and they decided not to renew her contract. She also lost La Perla, not sure if it was also due to poor sales or her just being hard to work tho, girlfriend doesn't have the greatest reputation out there.

I do agree Sofia's walk is trash tho but i rather get Sofia's hot body + trash walk than ever seeing someone like Anja Rubik walk for VS again.

I love how we're all setting ourselves for the inevitable moment when she doesn't make it I'm more hopeful this year tho, VS seems to be aiming for commercial girls and Lo is one of the most popular now

Probably that. She used to have to wear whatever L'Oreal wanted her to wear, the folks at Armani are doing a way way waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better job at dressing Barbara. We're lucky she changed brands.
