On the subject of accents, KK doesn't get nearly enough credit for the quality of her English, imho.

Looks vs. Personality
I know plenty of people with great personalities, both men and women, who can't find/keep a mate. And the grand majority of them are below average when it comes to physical beauty. As much as most of us hate to admit it, physical appearance does come at n° 1 in terms of demands for a partner. We don't all actually believe we'll land ourselves a supermodel or a super-stud, but we'll each try to drag the most attractive person possible back to our cave.

Please let it be Shearer! Shearer = no Ingurland at WC 2010 as well.

"A retractable roof that doesn't shut. A £700m field you wouldn't play rugby on. A manager that is rewarded £2m for underperforming. A man-of-the-match award for Frank Lampard. A standing ovation for David Beckham. An FA chief executive who styles himself on a ginger Charlie Chaplin. Just so I'm clear, the problem with English football is that we have too many foreigners in the Premier League?" From today's Fiver.

England: :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: I saw and enjoyed every minute of that game. I had a good feeling about Croatia prior to kick-off, even when the three Amigos (Wright, Hansen and Shearer) were predicting an easy win for Ingurland. "I read in the papers that no Croatian player would start in your team. That's ridiculous. Wake up." - Slaven Bilic, Croatia coach, to the assembled English press after the game. I love you, Slaven Bilic...

That's funny because I feel the exact opposite. His style is a bit too rococo for my taste as well...

I think they were just going for some futuristic designs and put them all under the name "Blade Runner". I don't see any real connection between the Blade Runner costume design and what VS created for that segment, though.

Karolina Kurkova
Do I see Jeremy Piven and James Van Der Beek in the crowd in that fifth picture? And the more pictures I see, the more I think that Blade Runner was by far the best segment when it comes to outfit design.

Why would every possible genetic combination have to be created in order for someone to be born "perfect"? That's like saying you have to play every single number in existence in order to win the lottery, and we all know that's not the case. After all, if enough people play the lotto, someone's going to win sooner or later. Actually, your lottery example is a good one. The reason that most weeks there is a lottery winner is because the lottery system is designed as such that there is a large enough number of people participating for there to be a big winner quite frequently. For instance, Belgium's most popular lottery system is a 6 winning number system out of a total of 42 numbers. Simple probability theory tells us that we only need a little over 5000000 lottery forms to be filled out to all but guarantee a winner. Which is why we do have a winner more times than not. But genetics are not as simple as that. Humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes. These are cut in half during the creation of ovules and sperm. So already at the stage of ovules and sperm, you have 2^23 possible chromosome varieties. When a sperm cell fertilizes an ovule, this number increases even more, since every ovule-chromosome can combine with every sperm cell chromosome. And that doesn't even factor in mutation. Or the fact that during the process of creating sperm cells and ovules, the chromosomes tend to be re-arranged somewhat, adding even more possibilities to the human genetic spectrum. But not even factoring in those mutations and the chromosomal cross-pollination, so just taking into account the number of possible combinations at the fertilization stage, we come at a number of over 70000000000000. That's 70000 billion. An optimistic estimate of the total human population since its existence would be around 22 billion. So that is a population which is quite inadequate to guarantee the birth of a genetically perfect child. In fact, it's a population number that would suggest it being very very unlikely that a perfect child has yet been born. 22/70000 = 1/3181 that it has happened.
