You guys are killing me with all this stuff! Another one I know I recognize, but I can't remember where I know it from... Is that from Infernal affairs?

Poor Liverpool... Arsenal is still going strong in spite of all the injuries! They might very well have been top of the league today if they hadn't lost Van Persie.

LOL I knew that screenshot had a Kar Wai Wong vibe to it.

It's been a while since I saw it, but I'm still going with Kar Wai Wong's "In the mood for love".

That guy looks like Ernie Hudson. I'm going to go with "No Escape".

Sorry about that defeat Fred! I guess that puts Arsenal is now well and truly back in the title race? I guess a lot depends on how they will fare without Cesc.

Well... This weekend's results sure made the premiership a lot more interesting. Liverpool might not make it back into the top four now, let alone win the league! :| I can't believe they will fail to win it even once in all of Gerrard's prime.

My favorite part of MotD was when Hansen went on his "even you can understand this, Gabby" rant when he was talking about Figueroa's goal.

Yeah, maybe. I don't really have any great kinship for the Brazilians ('least not the fellas, anyway) but I'd rather it was the Portugese that missed out, naturally for spiteful reasons. Apparently they (Brazil) are better in defence these days, but I honestly wouldn't know. To be fair, we seemed to do our best to make Trinidad & Tobago look like world beaters that day. What a pathetic performance. With quality all over midfield and attack, a world class goalkeeper and another generation of great wing-backs (Maicon, Dani Alves, Michel Bastos, ...) I think Brazil's only "weakness" if you can call it that is central defense. They rely a great big deal on Lucio in that department. I'm not sure they can handle Drogba. I wouldn't be all that surprised to see the Ivory Coast defeat Brazil. Yaya Touré faces similar midfields every week and their defense are no push-overs either. Portugal are the most likely candidate to go out. Although you never now. If Brazil loses to the Africans and draws Portugal (both far more likely than one might imagine) it could down to their respective goal difference against Korea.

England got the easiest group by far. Even easier than the one they got in 2006, and that one featured the world power that is Trinidad & Tobago... <_<

Football
I imagine it more the other way round, with Portugal sweating having the Ivory Coast in their group. Should be a close run thang, me thinks. There's even a chance, however small, that Brazil might struggle to get out of their group now.

Candice Swanepoel
Yeah, former all-star professional athletes like Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason and Shannon Sharpe never got any sort of female attention. Not even when they were big men on campus! = Obviously I was talking about right now, not twenty years ago. Even I regularly got lucky less than a decade ago. Though I might be wrong, and the old farts might be rolling in the hay with some young hottie every night. More power to them if so. Honestly though, I didn't imagine anyone was going to take my obvious attempt at making a little joke this seriously. Are you related to one of them?

It wasn't a classic Barça-Real by any means, but at least the good guys won!

Candice Swanepoel
That NFL vid was both cute and cringe-worthy. It was endearing to see Candice on there, but it was also clear throughout that she and the guys weren't entirely comfortable in each other's presence... Makes sense, since geriatric NFL studio guys and young supermodel likely don't mingle very often. But make no mistake about it, us old guys do like the sexy South-African!

Forgotten Greats of the Beautiful Game
^He fell out with everyone - Passarella, Bielsa, Bilardo. Our only coach he ever liked was Coco. What a waste for los albicelestes... <_< Would I be right in thinking that Redondo initially fell out with Passarella when he told him to cut his hair? ^That's what the (somewhat hysterical ) press said at the time but - bearing in mind most of our team was pretty heavy on the long, lank, and greasy persuasion - that woud be a bit rich... I think it was more a refusal of Redondo's to play in a certain position. I think I once read politics had a lot to do with it as well. Supposedly Redondo (who is left-leaning politically) didn't like some of the things Passarella had said about gay people.
