FIFA World Cup 2010
Not quite. England still controls its own destiny. If they beat Slovenia, they go through regardless of what happens in the other game. If they lose to Slovenia, they go out unless the US loses to Algeria by a larger margin. If both the US and England draw their last game, then it all will come down to number of goals scored. The US is in the advantage so far, having scored three to England's one.

FIFA World Cup 2010
The short answer for Brazil is that Dunga wants players he can trust in terms of tactical and positional discipline. This has hurt the chances of some of the flair players who took liberties with their responsibilities on the field. This is not your father's or grandfather's Brazil. They're solid, not brilliant. Though I am mystified as to how Robinho seems to find his way back into this new style Brazil. You'd think he'd get the booth along with the likes of Adriano and Ronaldinho.

The Official Victoria's Secret Thread
Erm no... When Gisele was at that press conference with Thierry Henry for Ebel, her ignorance about soccer was quite apparent but I could not care less. She's a model, it's not her job to be a soccer expert.

So you expect fashion models to know the ins and outs of every sport their company might market in some way? How many different sports does VS have apparel for? Your demand is not realistic.

Not just on the squad, you could make a pretty good starting eleven just out of all the talented players he left at home!

Soccer?
Well I can understand how someone who was raised on basketball would be turned off by the lack of scoring in football. I like both sports, though obviously for different reasons. Mind you, if people are basing their opinion of the game on this world cup, we should probably point out that the first fifteen games of this years edition have for the most part been (very) poor. Teams that managed to entertain (somewhat) so far: Chile, Spain (in spite of their loss) and Germany. Add to that the fact that this is the lowest-scoring world cup through the first round of group games ever. And that even the amount of chances created and shots on goal are down from previous editions. Too much stifling defense going on for any team to get into an offensive rythm.

Italy-Paraguay was another poor game. This WC has really been disappointing so far. I hope the standard of play improves once Brazil and especially Spain kick off their tournaments.

Jerry did a frightfully good job. They played the best football I've seen in this world cup so far. Not that they've had much competition so far, other than some flashes of brilliance by Messi.

Argentina's defense looked very shaky at times. I'm pretty sure it's not good enough to come away unscathed against the "other" favorites. Can you imagine Jonas Gutierrez trying to deal with the likes of Iniesta and Silva? Glad to see Messi having a decent game, would have been nice to see him score on one of his chances though.

FIFA World Cup 2010
One game down, 63 to go. Mexico looked anemic going forward, and they kept the tempo way too low throughout. South Africa rode their luck a bit on a few high balls into the area but also had enough chances to win it themselves.

FIFA World Cup 2010
I plan on watching nearly every game, even though some will be broadcast whilst I'm at work. So I might be out of a job in a few weeks time, which is great cause I'll have even more time to watch the knock-out rounds!
