Erin is more esthetically pleasing whereas Lindsay as a slightly edgier, weird look with her big eyes. Could be part of the reason they're pushing Erin more.

There was some contention that the reason they were pushing Lindsay and Erin at the same time, (the two girls that so many people commonly mistook for each other) was to see who would appeal to their target demographics more. Perhaps they came to realize that Erin has more mass market appeal and thus put Lindsay on the back burner?

My only point was that I personally don't get the appeal of the new trend for weird, awkward looking girls. I understand why the fashion industry has picked them up, and I realize that this is the new 'it' thing for the decade, I'm just truly hoping that they go back to healthy looking body types and beauty that while may not be completely conventional at least gives girls something to relate to. What is interesting is if you look in the competitions section, and for the most part any worldwide polls done it's those girls that are classically 'pretty' that are still garnering the most interest and still appealing to the mass media/average joe the most. I'm not saying discount the unique/strange girls, just don't inundate us with them as much as they are. Have a nice healthy balance of up and comers who have a strange looking beauty and those that have a classical beauty. Commercial is the home of the classic, why can't high fashion be as well? It should be all about exaggeration. Personal conjecture aside I realize that most of high fashion isn't about the model it's about the clothes, but can't they at least have pretty coat racks stomping down the runway instead of weird looking ones?

It's ok you don't have to take any of your own nominations away, just surprised that it filled up that fast, normally nominations take about a week... I was at work when the nominations started and just getting off by the time they were done

I hate to say this but 9/10 of these girls I just can't wrap my head around. Maybe I'm not a high fashion connoisseur but I don't get the appeal of the girls who look strange or odd. I adore Gemma Ward, but even now I still have trouble considering her truly beautiful. These girls may be unique and strange looking, but perhaps that's why so much of fashion is losing itself in translation to the average person on the street. 10+ years ago you had 'normal' people taking somewhat of an interest in fashion, be it high or commercial now... I guess to each their own, but I just don't get the appeal of looking at 12-16 year old girls in bikini's or lingerie. You know as an adult if you were found going to the beach to look at skimpily clad underage girls in bikini's you'd get in trouble, and yet here we are on a fashion forum and in the name of fashion we're doing exactly that. Whatever happened to the beautiful girls that we could all idolize and wish we could be more like. That tangible goddess that while we might not ever quite reach their heights of beauty they were still within reach? Now you have a bunch of girls who 'Time' aptly named the rise of the Alien Model. When Gemma Ward starts to look normal compared to the up and coming crop of new models there are problems. I truly wish we could go back to healthy body types, where girls didn't feel the need to crash diet and guys looked like guys. A little bit of androgyny is fine but I still want to know what I am looking at :|
