Admittedly, VS and commercial modeling haven't traditionally been my favorite aspects of fashion, but I came to find this brand interesting. At first glance, I just thought it was cheesy, but I find the fact that VS has expanded beyond what was my original narrow view of the brand to be somewhat interesting. In the case of Gemma, her looks probably seem even more alien because she doesn't appear (at least to me) to be definable by race. At first I assumed she some type of Eurasian or something, but I have no idea. That's not to say that I investigated though . I do know that I've never seen another Australian that looks even remotely similar. What I also love about Vlada is that she has a type of gracefulness, classiness and innocence on one hand but can also brink make very haunting expressions when the setting calls for it. Putting both of those together makes her bring a wide range of editorials to life. In the case of Tanya, she actually scared a lot of people when she first came out and her editorials capitalized on that. I don't think I've ever seen an editorial by her that I didn't like. The irony of the fact that she has such a playful personality and sense of humor in contrast to this 'image' is what made her irresistible to me. She is also just as amazing on the runway as she is in editorials. The thing with Brazilian models is probably because its such a sexually liberal culture so its probably harder to pull off the angelic thing. I'd say Ana BB might be one of the closest things among Brazilian models, but even she has a certain fire that is still too much to pull it off.

Thanks for the info . I had no idea any of those started that young. Interesting about being spotted topless at 15. Though I know many Europeans think Americans are prudish about nudity, I was spotted topless in Alabama at 12 and she would have been 'legal' at 14 there . LOL, yeah, they not only rent office space but a lot of them even went to modeling school and some are much like gymnasts in that their families even moved to a totally different country for the prospect of their modeling career. One of my favorite 90s models is Shalom Harlow. She seems to have played to her strengths in that I have no idea what her body looks like , but she was a 'conventional beauty' who was able to succeed in the types of editorials some assume only 'edgy beauties' can. That's really more of a side note as she's to me just like Gemma in being one of the best combinations of great editorial work as well as distinctive runway style.

Before I lost the files on my fashion USB I had secretly amassed quite the Vlada collection . Its worth mentioning that my fandom is primarily of her as a model rather than attractiveness, but that's not to say she isn't a cute little doll . I figured she was one of those that was moreso popular on tfs than here though. I guess Elsa could grow on me some.

I know I could have looked up the heights, but I lost faith in the agency listings ever since I saw a model listed as '5'10' standing eye level (barefoot) with her 6'2 boyfriend and a 5'8 model well below my 5'9 cousin in a picture (both in sandals). Good points about them standing next to those other models and thank you all anyway though .

I didn't know you liked Eva, though I assumed she was a 2000s model. Does anyone know what the average starting age for 90s models was? It seems a lot of girls currently start as early as 13 whereas I hear stories of 90s models saying they were spotted in the mall at 19 or in college even.

Does anyone by any chance know of a video for this ? I was curious to see whether the heights were altered by photoshop (that's not to inquire whether it was used at all obviously). I ask because I always got the impression Palvin was no taller than 5'6 and that Candice couldn't be any shorter than 5'11. At least I figured even with one standing up straight and the other's leg slightly bent that there was a greater height disparity due to her arms, torso and legs all being significantly longer.

Post pictures or videos of famous people in high school. While I have no use for pictures of celebs strolling through the town, sipping coffee ect. I do find high school pictures interesting for some reason. At least its interesting to see the differences in style and such. You can still post different pics or vids of someone already if you want .

I didn't crop these heads out although they do seem to still convey quite an air of class in their expressions anyway. I mainly thought the dresses were interesting though. I'm not sure what shows they are, but they have the look of Givenchy to me.

I would have bet my eyebrows that video was from the 80s . I'm curious to learn more about 90s modeling although I'm only interested in pics and not who's currently strung out in the crack house necessarily.
