There's some Yamila pics from SI2004 (some not used) that I hadn't seen before on this Throwback Thursday post of Veronika: in the second gallery down (The Best of Montauk) http://www.si.com/swim-daily/2014/04/17/veronica-varekova-2004-throwback-thursday (about 5 Yamila pics - a few may be totally new (unreleased), and some seem used before in SI)..

I think that site is just (mostly?) making a page/article about (paraphrasing) what Yamila said in that Shape FX video from 2011 (reposted in 2013)? or spiegel article from 2011?. It doesn't seem like they've interviewed her and they don't give any sources (and none for the things that aren't said in the video/spiegel article - they might have made other stuff that isn't in those up), so the video below - and Spiegel article (http://www.bellazon.com/main/topic/678-yamila-diaz-rahi/page-45#entry2571059) might be the only thing it is based on?: But she's already returned since then (that 2011 video and article) since she was in the 2014 Sports Illustrated ("all time greats" or something). eg.

And she's right But does she need to write/say things like that? Isn't that the type of thing Chrissy Teigen writes? I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Chrissy isn't the only girl in the world with an outgoing personality and has no filter. That's one of my favorite things about Kelly is that she's fun and she's goofy. Being fun and goofy doesn't mean someone has to use bad language/swear. Being fun and goofy is totally separate from being vulgar - someone can be fun and goofy without the bad language.

It looks less photoshopped than the cover, and while it might not be the best facial expression it looks more natural than some of the others. And she's got more of a swimsuit figure than some others.

I agree, thanks for the pics Pheno, Pretty. I think that SI shouldn't do any photoshopping (altering) or if they have to it should be minimal (less than this). I'm not sure which are the best (but all would I'm sure would be better without SI's photoshopping), but good: Haley, Hanna F, Kelly (though why doesn't she face the camera more instead of face up like that), Ashley S, Sara, Irina, Chrissy (in a way I think she looked better than a couple of Lily's), Genevieve, Erin, Nina, Jessica, Hannah D, Gigi was okay, and Emilys too. I didnt' think the cover was that good, (photoshop and pose). But she looked okay on the TV show (though not like an SI model eg. arms/legs). I think it's the "plus size" Ashley Graham that the sites are talking about not Robyn.

Good comp . Though I guessed wrong . Though at least NIna who I guessed was second. . I think it was probably because of the final picture. And it was a close match. Though I wonder why Bar won this year and not last year.

I'm still guessing Nina will win. Though these are the points a program gave: Bar Refaeli: 7.7, Brooklyn Decker: 8.1, Nina Agdal: 8.767, Petra Nemcova: 9.467 - so maybe Petra might win.

Me too. Imagebam support forum has a post about it that says:

I think the favourites (by looking at the scores) might be Nina, Petra and Veronika. I still think that Nina might win - as long as Julie doesn't.

I think it was unexpected that Marisa would lose in that round. Based on the points and that Bar won that round I expect Bar will win against Heidi. Also I think it's "Elaine D'Farley". Ignoring the points, I expect Nina has probably the best chance of winning - which would agree with your odds. Though I think Petra and Veronika have had high scores so might stand a chance of winning.

I don't understand how Irina lost

Yes it would let you know how many couldn't decide eg. didn't vote because they couldn't decide between the 2. eg. 80% can't decide and a small percentage vote for the winner. But without knowing what % couldn't decide it might look like it was a landslide/easy win for whoever won, but with the "couldn't decide" percentage it will help show you how close (or not) the vote was. But picking the frame from a clip that isn't representative of the model or the video clip might not give them the best chance of winning, it might give them less chance.

What if there was another option like "can't decide"? Also what if both pictures (if there is always going to be one of each for comparison) were from the same type of source (eg. both a picture from the magazine or both from a video clip but not a mix of both since in that case the PQ is likely to be quite different between the two). Also what if the pictures were what most represents the source (eg. if from a video clip, a shot that shows what they were normally like in the clip).

True about Monique. But, I only use photos from SI itself. Search through the history of all of Monique's (two) photos in SI, and you'll see that both are from behind. That one is actually the only one that shows even a little bit of her face! So, that's why I use that one. As for the rank... you may be right, but maybe not. I will submit that there have been plenty of higher ranked models who get killed by lower ranked ones. So, I don't think it influences many people. Does it influence you? Honestly I'm just curious... not being a jerk. I often wonder what different people use as criteria for voting. Do they look only at the photos? Do they look at the rank? Do they look at the appearances? Do they consider everything? I'm not sure! Besides, I use a lot of geeky math to determine those current ranks, so I like to use them in my Photoshop match templates. I think the displayed past ratings might influence me and others. That's why I try not to look at them before I decide.They could still be shown in the results of the voting.

In "Group 36, Match 4" you can only see a bit of Monique's face. Also, could showing the previous year's rank on the picture pages influence people's choice? Wouldn't it lessen the chance of bias if the previous year's rank wasn't displayed in the picture before each vote?

It might be a silly question but If it says "thank you for voting" when we click on the poll (without giving options), does that mean it's got our vote already or just that it just thinks it has because of a cookie/cookies? Do we need to delete cookies before voting or has it got our vote already (though at some point it wasn't counting votes) if it just says "thank you for voting"?
