¡Ay, ay, ay! I must be missing home. Mi Buenos Aires querida. I'm currently in Europe for the next few months. Been here about 4 weeks now. Food is very evocative, no? Supposedly taste and smell are more likely to induce memory than the other senses. And I've been dreaming about empanadas... These little pockets of pleasure are ubiquitous in Argentina. I have them several times a week. Essentially, for those who don't know, they are little pastry pies. Traditionally they are filled with beef (no surprise!), but nowadays they come in a variety of fillings and are on almost every menu in my city. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of empanda only take-out places too. (Including Solo Empanadas - which also sells sandwiches ) Because they are all the same size and prepared the same way, most places have a little picture-guide with the different ways of sealing them (then you can tell your carne picanté from your queso y cebolla). For example: And if you order-in they'll some wrapped up in paper on a little tray like this. So then you can then pick your ones out from these different repulgues in the pastry:

Joe - we have shelves and shelves of the stuff in the supermarkets! To me it all tastes pretty similar but it is obviously big business: But, can I find it here in the UK? Can I bollocks!!!
  21. And, so as to put my money where my mouth is, so to speak... I hope this post passes muster?:
  22. Blimey! Where to begin..? It's impossible to comment on everything because, as I've said before, you go away a few days and when you come back 3 pages of brilliance have sprung up - Oh, to have threads so popular! But, I do have to thank you Layla90; that Richard Avedon shoot was fantastic! And it was new to me, at least. And welcome, Adorra. I know this isn't my thread, and it may be totally inconsequential to you, but I like to see new members embracing this thread. I do so love independence of thought, and Strange/Unique's inherent (and pre-requisite!) 'uniqueness'; but - still - there is some safety in numbers!!! penny, you know how I love an underwater shoot!?! And every time I visit this thread, PlayGirl has posted on at least 20 occasions! I particularly liked post #4327, excellent stuff. Toooo much! Finally, encantador - I adored the Thierry Le Goues post. And the colours on #4405 were amazing. Phew, I hope this keeps me in good stead with you all for a few pages at least. It is difficult to always comment on the great images that pass through this thread. More so than any other. I'm happy to note that this is my 100th post herein - so I wanted to make it something positive. To say "keep up the good work" is both unnecessary and insulting to you all!
  23. I don't know..? Seems like the end of a good night to me!
