At Cannes with Luma Grothe, the new face of L'Oréal Paris At only 22, Luma Grothe has joined the exclusive circle of L'Oréal Paris ambassadors. A new role which today leads to the Cannes Film Festival, as tradition dictates. In full preparation for his first red carpet, she confided to The Official ... Interview by Karen Ruach Photos: Justin Personnaz What do you do in Cannes? As a new ambassador, I am here to represent L'Oréal on the red carpet. This is the first time I go up those stairs. Are you stressed? No, I'm really looking forward to it ... And I'm especially curious to know how it goes. What does this mean to you to be the new ambassador for L'Oréal Paris? It's a dream come true. Since I was little I use their products because they are of good quality and affordable, as well. I could have hoped for. What are you wearing to climb the stairs? A Paco Rabanne dress in plastic, very edgy. And I have not chosen by chance: I am also the face of their new perfume that will come out in July. What are your beauty secrets? The sport! I do a lot of gymnastics. Also, I drink lots of water, I put on sunscreen, and I take special care of my hair. Your beauty routine in the morning? I wash my face with warm water, and then I put "The Extraordinary oil" of L'Oreal on my skin before make-up. Your beauty icon? Linda Evangelista. But Gisele Bundchen also inspires me a lot, especially since it is Brazilian like me. Have you met the other muses L'Oréal Paris? Yes, I met Eva Longoria but we have not had much time to talk because we're both in the rush! I also saw Liya Kebede and Natasha Poly, they are really nice. http://www.lofficielmode.com/beaute/cannes-luma-grothe-nouvelle-egerie-loreal-paris/- Luma Grothe

For the first year ever, the huge production that is the Victoria's Secret Runway Show is taking place in London. Yes, we're very excited about it too. And to celebrate the Angels flying in, our Online Fashion Editor Jess Edwards headed down to the flagship store to meet the newest recruit to the Angel brigade, Elsa Hosk. Elsa, a 26-year-old from Sweden who started off her career juggling modeling with playing professional basketball, was given her wings and Angel-status earlier this year and understandably can't wait to walk alongside regulars Doutzen Kroes, Lily Aldridge, and Adriana Lima. "Oh, it was so exciting!" Elsa tells us, describing the day she found out, "I actually didn't know I was going to walk in the front segment until the day of the fitting. "My look was hanging there but I didn't know it was my look yet, so I was like, 'What is this doing here, it's obviously not mine,' and then they were like, 'Surprise! It's your look.' "I was so excited and just can't wait to walk it tomorrow." Getty But how does a girl go from playing basketball to modeling in front of millions? "It's definitely helped me so much in modeling," Elsa explained. "Just knowing how the body works and being athletic means it's easier to stay athletic while working a different job. "Just having the whole control over your body is so important when you're modeling — to just be able to know exactly what you look like and what you're doing." And how do you prepare for walking on the catwalk for what is the biggest lingerie show in the world? "I've been working out. A lot! Two hours a day for the last two weeks. "I've also been eating really healthy and just taking care of myself and being nice to myself, like letting myself sleep. And of course stepping up the workouts. "I've been doing a lot of boxing. I have a boxing trainer at a gym, which is really fun. And I also try to complement it with flybarre, which is lengthening, strengthening, toning, just tightening everything up. "It's two completely different workouts but they really work together." The pressure to look amazing must be immense but Elsa takes a view that you can't be everything to everybody at all times, so you just have to not let it get to you. "There is definitely a lot of pressure," Elsa told us. "Being a model, you're constantly judged on the way you look, but I think you have to be really strong and confident in knowing who you are and not take anything personally you know because not everybody can like you, and not everybody will think you're beautiful. "It's just not all about that. It's so much about the personality and who you are as a person." As she's often snapped in lovely lingerie, Elsa must have some great tips on how to find the perfect set: "I would just walk straight into Victoria's Secret or Pink and take your pick, there's something for everybody here," the model said. "That's what I love about this store — you can be anybody and you'll find something you love." http://www.cosmopolitan.com/style-beauty/fashion/news/a33742/elsa-hosk-tells-what-its-really-like-to-be-a-victorias-secret-angel/- Sara Sampaio

Triton AW14 @ Sao Paolo Animale AW14 @ Sao Paolo NYCFW SS14 LFW SS14 LFW SS15 in NYC http://onabbotkinney.com/ http://runwaypassport.com/ TRANSLATION Luma Grothe signed a contract with L'Oréal In addition to covering the fashion shows, backstage beauty and the queue during fashion weeks, we also keep an eye on the models! Last season, for example, who stood out was the Waleska Gorczevski, this time was exclusive to Animale. Two seasons ago also had the Angolan Maria Borges, who returned to Brazil for the 2nd time for this spring-summer 2015/16. And today is the turn of Luma Grothe, who despite working as a model since she was 16 - is now at 22 - was highlighted in this issue because just closed a contract with L'Oréal - remember we talked about the importance of contracts with brands Beauty pras models? - And it was exclusive Balcony in Fashion Week. To keep an eye on Santa Catarina, rolled a chat with her. Read below and then click the picture to open the gallery and view photos with Luma! How did you start? With 16 years participated in the "Fantastic Girl". I ended up not being selected, but they saw me and invited me to come to SP. At that age I did my 1st fashion week here in Brazil, but then moved to London and Milan to work there, where I did a lot of photo at first and then started to parade indeed! What are its origins? I have German descent, African and Japanese, but by far, the great-grandparents. My family is well mixed and no one seems to each other, you know? My sister looks more Japanese, my father is darker ... We are 50% German and the other half is this whole mix, but we are 100% Brazilian - then our culture is well here even. As close the contract with L'Oréal? I was shooting the campaign of the perfume of Paco Rabanne, coming out this June, and the hair there liked me and showed me to L'Oréal, because he is also responsible for the beauty brand. When the president of the company saw my picture wanted very close to me - how it started. It was very quickly: in a couple of months we negotiate and close contracts. In addition to L'Oréal, which other works were important pro growth? They had several. I consider all very important shows such as Versace, Burberry ... In the campaign of Dsquared2 and all the covers and editorials for "Vogue", "Elle" and "Harper's Bazaar". And what is your dream job now? I want to parade for Victoria's Secret! And do campaigns for Prada and Gucci would be not bad either ... http://www.lilianpacce.com.br/moda/luma-grothe-o-novo-rosto-da-loreal/- Romee Strijd

L'Oreal LUMA GROTHE INTERVIEW: MODEL TALKS HER FIRST CANNES FILM FESTIVAL! by Florence Valencourt - Tuesday May 19, 2015 - 10h30 After Andie MacDowell and Laetitia Guarino, we at Get the Look had the pleasure to catch up with one of L'Oréal Paris' newest ambassadors, Luma Grothe! On Sunday, May 17, the young Brazilian model made her first appearance on theCannes Festival red carpet, and here's what she had to say about the experience... Get the Look: What does the French Riviera mean to you? It's the first time that I've come to the South of France... until now, I'd only been to Paris for Fashion Week. But it's a lot like I imagined, even with the added craziness of the Festival! For Brazilians, the Riviera is Saint-Tropez, I would love to go there one day. GTL: How is your first Cannes Festival going? It's a whirlwind, very intense, but I'm so happy to have the chance to walk on the red carpet. I think this moment will be engraved in my mind forever. GTL: What do you think about the Hotel Martinez? I have the impression that it's the center of Cannes! I'm thrilled because the water pressure in the shower is great and the beds are comfortable. When you travel a lot and sleep very little, these kinds of things are very important! GTL: Let's talk a bit about beauty- of this season's trends, which lipstick shade is your favorite? I tend to wear pink shades, so off the top of my head, I'd have to say bubblegum pink. It's fun and I'm sure it'll be great for summer. GTL: Would you dare try underliner or colored liner? Maybe colored liner, but definitely not underliner. I have small eyes and with that, they totally disappear. GTL: What has been your most daring makeup look, or which one would you like to try? I'm young, I'm ready to try anything! GTL: Which recent product from L'Oréal Paris do you love most? I love the Brow Stylist Plumper and the Magic Nude Liquid Powder, they've become staples for me. My latest discovery is contouring. You need a light hand but it can really transform your face. I use it when I want to look more mature, less "babyface". Check back later to see what's new on the Cannes red carpet!- Luma Grothe

Breaking News: Hot Model Knows She’s Hot BY JENNA ROSENSTEIN, BEAUTY WRITER, MAY 30, 2014, 12:28:59 PM Have you noticed that nobody who’s actually hot says they’re hot? You just don’t hear Angelina Jolie bragging about her lips, or Karlie Kloss gushing about her superhuman legs. Hotness is like Fight Club: You just don’t talk about it. Unless you’re supermodel Candice Swanepoel. The South African Victoria’s Secret model earned the top spot on Maxim’s Hot 100 list this year, which is not surprising. I mean, have you seen her? But what does shock us is that she admits, openly, that she knows she’s hot. “In my day-to-day life I don’t see myself how everybody else sees me,” Swanepoel told Entertainment Tonight. “When I’m an old lady one day and my boobs are down here—I’ll have to say, ‘I was hot one day.’ ” We’re giving Swanepoel a round of applause for owning up to her undeniable heat. It’s refreshing to see a woman not take the Jennifer Lawrence route: "But I was so nerdy in middle school!” “You should see me without makeup on!” Who cares? You’re hot now, and you obviously work hard for it. We'd rather hear women talk about their own beauty with confidence. And for that reason alone we nominate Swanepoel to the Hotness Hall of Fame. http://www.allure.com/beauty-trends/blogs/daily-beauty-reporter/2014/05/candice-swanepoel-admits-she-is-hot.html- Malaika Firth

The Victoria's Secret Supermodel Book Club I've been reporting on supermodels for Allure almost from day one, and I learned early on that they do, in fact, read. For years, before everyone lived on their cell phones, plenty of models would have a heady book at hand while stylists worked on their hair. And possibly to wow writers like myself, Carmen Kass read books about chess theory backstage at the shows. So on Wednesday, when Donna Karan celebrated Angels, Russell James's new coffee table book of artful nude photographs of Victoria's Secret models, I asked a number of the models who turned up about the books that have meant a lot to them. Sara Sampaio: "One of my favorite books is by Jodi Picoult, called My Sister's Keeper. It's just so powerful. It's a really sad but beautiful story. It makes me cry. I love any book that makes me cry from the beginning to the end." http://www.allure.com/beauty-trends/blogs/daily-beauty-reporter/2014/09/models-favorite-books.html Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue Models Reveal the Secrets of Body Hair Removal In the pages of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, the models appear nearly as smooth and free of body hair as the day they were born. So exactly how does that happen? We found the courage to ask. (Not that there's anything wrong with a little—or a lot—of hair, for the record.) SARA SAMPAIO "I laser it. You just have to touch it up once in a while, but it's pretty much done. Oh, it's horrible, but it's so worth it, rather than waxing every three or four weeks. I go to Le Spa." http://www.allure.com/celebrity-trends/celebrity-quotes/2015/sports-illustrated-swimsuit-models-nude-tips#slide=8- Elsa Hosk

She's very smart, and she's a really strong woman. She's cool." http://www.allure.com/beauty-trends/blogs/daily-beauty-reporter/2014/09/models-favorite-books.html Celebs Reveal If They Like to Be in Control You can tell a lot about people by the way they drive—are they cautious, lead-footed, or prone to road rage?—but what does it mean if they prefer to be driven? We asked celebrities at a Cartier event, a party for the Hugo Boss Prize at the Guggenheim Museum, and the Glamour Women of the Year awards whether they'd rather steer or sit back. Elsa Hosk "I drove for the first time this summer in Iceland. But it was an ATV bike with four wheels. It was so much fun.
