You’re both right. Yes, I think there’s an element of tokenism (perhaps less so in Pink but I don’t pay much attention to it) - they have a roster of 10/15 white girls they regularly shoot with, but Lais and Jas only for WOC, and no one of the skin tone of, say, Duckie, Grace Bol etc. And Asians, I guess they recently used Ming and they shot with Shanina but it seems that’s about it. I want a big group of everyone.

So much diversity! This is what I don’t understand - VS has a pretty diverse show, but the rest? Not so much except for one or two almost token MOC (and never really Asians) at any one time...

I suppose it’s also about who has options. in the end, do any of the models in the magazine have anything but the SISE (save Lais (VS), Barbara (L’oreal) and Ashley (Revlon) and Kate now being a household name), I cant think of any others having substantive careers or contracts elsewhere (Bianca doesn’t do D&G any more, does she?). Back in the day, the models would have other important clients too (think Stephanie, Cindy, Naomi, even Isabeli and Hilary other more recently for example).

I actually didn’t mind the model show. Had it on as I did the dishes... perfect fodder. The girls all come off... ok? Nadine seemed nice and I liked Ping. Give me bolshy any day. Caroline was sweet (what’s her surname? I’ve never heard of her I think), with a hottie bf. Hopefully Hannah and Grace will feature more in the future, and we already know Daniela, Nadine and Devon get VS, but the rest don’t. Hopefully they’ll bring some more interesting and perhaps more genuine stuff. Also Shanina looks better in pics than in the videos, whilst Hannah and Daniela seemed to go the other way. Edit: Googled the show. I wonder why Grace features so much when she’s not part of the cast. Maybe she pulled out? Honestly it’s not like it seems these girls would be friends irl.

Who do we think is now done with the magazine? I think no Samantha, Kate U or Ashley next year. The last one because she’s leveraged her name enough now (revlon, vogue cover etc) and the former two seem over it. I also think Hailey May be a goner because she just looks over it (lthough does she have anything else?) and Bianca because she didn’t look great this year.

Who were in the line up then? i remember buying the one with Rebecca Romijn in the cover and they were all (at least) recognisable models, if not necessarily those in high fashion (it’s probably when the divergence occurred between the two worlds tbh)

I don’t know why they don’t cut costs and just have the shoots in Walmart next year, where they seem to find their models...

Robin - great rookie shoot and I love the pics on the sun lounger. No boobs but that stomach is great. Kate U - she did good and does not look like a stripper Vita - so many potential cover shots from her. Pleasantly surprised. Olivia C - wish she had a full shoot Jasmyn - The body is amazing and her face needs expelrwssions but she’s hot danielle - I like her and her booty kate bock - first time I’ve liked her. Maybe it’s the low bar. Anne - I like most of her shoot and she has sex appeal. the flamingos - highlight of the issue The Meh: Chase - meh squared olivia j - has potential Raven - has amazing potential but work on that face girl! Hailey - She has run her course. I like her flatter chest tho. Georgia Sailor - hated her last year, still do. Looks like Kesha instead of her mum. It’s unfortunate. Honestly I kind of agree. It looks like a fantastic fashion magazine summer editorial in places but there are limited “Wow” moments, save for the one of her with te pineapple, or the one where the branch covers her boobies, which are excellent. Yu’s fault of course. As a side note, Bianca’s face looks the same in almost all pics and she looks a bit skeleton esque in the face or is it just me? Not a winner for me.

I think Danielle’s face is just the right side of Sexy for me, so I agree but there were much better pics for her. As a side note, which WOC were robbed in your eyes? I loved Damaris and Adaora, and would have loved a cover with either (they still haven’t had a dark skinned WOC) and Audrey quock back in the day.

Alexis is a total BOBFOC eh? (Body of Baywatch, face of Crimewatch). Really, when will Babs or Lais get the cover, or are they going to Anne V her?

Lol, didn’t refresh my page prior to posting... oops. About five pics of Barbs could have been cover, quite a few of Vita’s too. (Kate’s shoot is old, I begrudgingly admit) i actually like danielle, and her body is banging, but there were much better pics for her. Haven’t looked at the rest of the photos of the other models, but I am happy to have a minority on cover solo (and I feel Chrissy’s almost doesn’t count because they made her look like Chucky in it). also I dgaf but I welled up in that little danielle reveal video.

In danielle’s Profile, it says “2018 is cover model” Cat out of the bag then?

I played next about 20 times and kept getting more videos of the models I skipped, rather than repeats of ones I actually watched through. Is this to make sure the crap ones get views? georgia looks nice, tbh, as does Raven and Tyanna (?) but dammit none of the plussies are looking great from what I saw and please someone explain Alexis’ appeal to me, because she looks like Stacey down at the chippy (with additional plastic) getting her Instagram shot to show how good her holiday in Gran Canaria was. She’ll probably get the cover (or Upton again, because much as I find her blah, she’s their only star). Also Samantha is giving off mega MILF/Stacey’s mum vibes

Whilst I understand it is, it’s more that she was a hot red head and there aren’t many around. She combined the brazilian casual sexiness with a ginger unique look. Alexina, by comparison, doesn’t. Also there’s not a huge bunch of inspiring models for me at the moment other than models of colour, to which I pay more attention, tbh.

A line up like this would have been slamming (add a megablonde and Lais tho, and a red head *cough* Cintia *cough*). Could’ve been a contender for best line up.

The line up is awful. Genuinely, they would be better off cutting it in half and having decent shots of all the girls. Also, no Kelly returning? Really? Or any Asian girl at all? Diversity in regards in plus size only eh? Wth regards to photoshop - what did they used to do back in the Elle, Paulina etc days? Maybe those women were just hot? over this magazine now. Love the shade in the boards though.
