So basically the suits managed to chase of all the real talent from their studio. Genius!

Will you play it?  I looked at the patch notes and looked around a bit, it seems like there was a noticable graphical boost and most bugs are gone.

But it's been 15 months since release!

Seeing the release announcements for next-gen consoles, you do have to wonder, how much better a state the studio would be in had they just waited until now to release Cyberpunk 2077. So the board essentially screwed the creatives, flushing 10+ years of goodwill and good reputation down the drain in the process.

Horizon 2 is starting to appear on youtube, releasing 2/18

Definitely much better, I think CP2077, if released now or sometime later this year would have disappointed fans due to the deceptive marketing but the company's reputation/stock price would not have so damaged.  Overall however the game would not have anywhere the impact of W3.  The world-beating reputation of CDPR would have fallen incrementally but still remain very high.

The financiers/shareholders backing CDPR are definitely at fault too though, as they didn't reign in the top management team from their overambitious project before it was too late.

I saw the opening prologue for Elden Ring.  There is a lot of body horror.

Basically the story is a Tolkien /Simarillion (Lord of the Rings) type.

Aloy's hairstyle is a bit wrong.  It makes her look like she has a pineapple head.  her hair should be parted instead of being combed back : D

very intriguing discovery by a reddit user that the story of Elden Ring is influenced by a real world alchemy text (Ripley Scrolls).  I guess this is where a medievalist like GRRM would be helpful..only people like him and academic historians would know such obscure information.

Spoiler

best face graphics ever?  There is even peach fuzz on her cheek.  This game is made by a Dutch company, so I presume Aloy is Dutch?

Instead of making it so large, they could have made it as vertical and populated as practically possible, and then expanded it from there.  I recall that there were a lot of half-finished areas on the map.

I saw the beginning of the game.  It is different than the network test, and very mysterious.
