July 15, 20222 yr This game is so well written and complete that even if Witcher 4 doesn't come out somehow I am satisfied. It is so rich in detail that one could review it a third time and still enjoy it immensely. If they bring the Witcher again to TV they could simply just copy the W3 and it would be a lot better than the netflix show. Characters present in the 10th anniversary video: Geralt, Ciri, Triss, Yennefer, Shani, Regis, Dandelion, Priscilla, Zoltan, B.B., Damien, Eskel, Lambert, Keira, Bloody Baron, Duchess Anna, Olgierd, Jonny and Sarah. The canon endings are: 1. Yennefer romance, Ciri lives as a witcher 2. Priscilla lives as a couple with Dandelion 3. Keira and Lambert live as a couple 4. Bloody Baron lives and leaves to help his wife 5. Duchess Anna lives 6. Olgierd lives 7. Jonny and Sarah are brought together.
July 17, 20222 yr (112) Witcher 3 Blood and Wine Walkthrough Part 11 All quests Death March (all side quests + commentary) - YouTube Wine wars- a feel good set of side quests with beautiful visuals. There is another quest involving a Wine owner and this one is sad. Side Quest 'Paperchase' involves the dwarf banker Vivaldi from the novels. Unfortunately it is just a fun quest and doesn't make Vivaldi intriguing. Dandelion's character model reminds me of a young Jonny Depp. Jonny Depp also likes vineyards and is a francophile.

I find it interesting that they made the choices kind of a dilemma. Regis is constantly making excuses for Detlaff, but the logical path is to kill Detlaff and kill or imprison Syanna. Just like Witcher 1 there is chaos in the city. I had forgotten about this. I chose the path were Dettlaff is killed (technically by Regis), though I kinda liked him. He's an interesting "villain". I saved Syanna. Regis is a great sidekick. Wise guy and I understand why he's making excuses for Dettlaff. He saved him and he's not entirely bad, he's just blinded by hatred and revenge. The villains of the expansions are both great.

The villains of the expansions are both great. You saw all the different endings right? They have significant differences and are very well written. Overall the main quest for B & L is really nuanced and well done, just like Hearts of Stone. Detlaff is not beyond 'fixing' it seems, as Regis' backstory was that he was like him when he was young. This backstory is in the novels and in the game you can find a book that summarizes it. But Detlaff's emotions are nearly uncontrollable, and he lashes out like a toddler if provoked. That makes him very dangerous. In my mind he should be killed despite him being redeemable as he could commit mass murder again while he's getting taught by Regis to become well-adjusted.. Syanna I thought to be bad person (if she dies you get Regis saying that she was unphilosophical and lacked insight) but also not unredeemable. In her case, she is just a bad human, so she is less dangerous. I am ok with her living or dying.
July 17, 20222 yr Also about the ending there is also the case of Duchess Anna. Her kingdom is a matriarchy that positions her as an 'enlightened' ruler and sustains an ideology of appearances over all else. Regis says this exact thing at the end. It seems to work for the most part but the black side to it is quite ugly. The knights are not necessarily knightly, they just pretend to be. There are a lot of people getting executed and a lot of deluded men doing stupid/deadly things for chivalric honor. Duchess Anna routinely threatens people with execution like the Nilfgaardian emperor does. She is targeted for the lack of the 5th knightly virtue- compassion. The other people killed by the 'Beast' are corrupt knights. Maybe she becomes more compassionate if she survives with Syanna @Enrico_sw did you see all the character reunions at the end and the 10-yr anniversy reunion? what do you think?
July 17, 20222 yr CD Projekt stock is worth a quarter of what it was before Cyberpunk 2077 released | PC Gamer CDPR used to be the most valuable gaming company in Europe. I wonder where the company would be now if they didn't take a risk with CP2077 and just followed the FROMSOFT strategy and made W4 right after W3.
July 18, 20222 yr The B & W + 1 yr video has a few more hints about CDPR's epilogue for Geralt. There are also hints in the game about what CDPR intended. The quests for Toussant involve Geralt cleasing the area of monsters, vampires, and bandits. So 1. the bandit hanses' are defeated and the areas liberated for resettlement. 2. the monsters plaguing the vineyards, underground hideouts, and caves are exterminated 3. The vampires are either killed or leave except for the unseen elder. So basically the region is left in better shape than before, and with Corvo Blanco located across from the Duchess' palace, Geralt is the unofficial Witcher of the realm. BB says that Corvo Blanco's crop was destroyed by fungus and they have to wait 1 yr. So the anniversary video takes place at the start of a new year. Depending on the player's choice in the end game Regis conversation, they can prefer being a Witcher, prefer retiring and growing grapes, or aren't sure of either option. So Geralt at the time of the anniversary has enjoyed 1 yr of retirement. He says however, that he has a 'hard time staying put', implying that he will take some jobs. Triss and Yennefer become friends again. ??? Oddly it sounds like Triss is living there, at least temporarily which is not her canon ending (advisor living in a house in Kovir). And a bombshell is that Corvo Blanco is now the new "Kaer Mohren" as per W3 they talk about abandoning the cold, damaged fortress. The remaining witchers, Eskel and Lambert stay close to Corvo Blanco and Lambert "practically lives" there.
July 18, 20222 yr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bV2BtmZ-mg8 I did not pick this up the first time around, but in Ceyrs' quest with Aki, it is obvious that she has a crush on Geralt. Young woman and an older man dynamic going on there. She repeatedly mentions "Yennefer this, yennefer that...", and ends with her disappointment that Geralt will leave Spikerogg...

July 18, 20222 yr @Enrico_sw Yea, that video and also all the different character reunions. They can only be unlocked if people play the game several times and get different endings. This playthrough has all of them played back to back 42:57: Yenn, Triss, Ciri W, Ciri E, Dandelion https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToWV_EjPA7k&list=PL90YOFBe2p0z2WlA2-Jgc1n80_p_S5a0p&index=130

She basically looks like a model. I am thinking that Duchess Anna and Triss both look like Madison Headrick. Maybe there is a model that looks more like Triss than her.

Or even Margarita Masliakova.
July 21, 20222 yr I am doing Elden Ring, 100% review (121) Elden Ring - YouTube Elden Ring's only downside IMHO is the environmental art. While being moderately interesting and immensely expansive, it is just really spread out as a consequence and doesn't have the density/immersion of DS3, Sekiro, Bloodborne. From an artistic POV the older games were better. But from a gameplay POV Elden Ring is massively better. It has many times more bosses and enemy varieties than the last 3 games, and perhaps as many as all of them combined. The story of Elden ring is just as good as the other games. The 100% full review is about 70 hours long, which makes it 2-3 times longer than the older games. Even though W3 is 7 years old it still has the most immersive and meaningful open world ever.
