Mousematt Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 (edited) I'm thinking of doing a model World Cup tournament to run alongside the real thing if anyone's interested? One model representing each country, same groups as the real thing, then knockout stages. I thought it might lead to a few different match ups than the usual. I'll try to use current models (ie. pictures from 2018), although obviously some countries are harder than others. I've used the European (and Australian) Models Tournament as a 'qualifier' to select some models and limit arguments (marked with *) Group A Russia – Tanya Mityushina* Saudi Arabia – Shanina Shaik Egypt – Imaan Hammam Uruguay – Carolina SanchezGroup B Portugal – Sara Sampiao* Spain – Clara Alonso* Morocco – Rania Benchegra Iran – Shermine ShahrivarGroup C France- Agathe Teyssier* Australia – Sarah Stephens* Peru – Denise Schaefer Denmark – Josephine Skriver*Group D Argentina – Camila Morrone Iceland – Magdalena Leifsdottir Croatia – Meri Gulin* Nigeria – Mayowa NicholasGroup E Brazil – Lais Ribeiro (Winner of Bellazon's Top 100 Sexiest Women of 2017) Switzerland – Julie Ordon* Costa Rica – Juliana Herz Serbia – Zorana Kuzmanovic*Group F Germany – Toni Garrn* Mexico – Alejandra Guilmant Sweden – Elsa Hosk* South Korea – Ji Hye ParkGroup G Belguim – Rose Bertram* Panama – Katrina Troncoso Tunisia – Sonia Ben Ammar England – Niamh Adkins*Group H Poland- Sandra Kubicka* Senegal – Khoudia Diop Columbia – Daniella Lopez Osorio Japan – Tao Okamoto Any interest? Other suggestions or ideas? Edited June 15, 2018 by Mousematt Quote

Egypt – Tara Emad (no recent posts) or Elisa Sednaoui (Italian but has an Egyptian father) In that case, Imaan Hammam might be a better choice for Egypt Quote

~Serenity~ Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 Israel: Shlomit Malka, Yael Shelbia, Esti Ginzburg, this is a hard one! Hungary: Barbara Palvin Netherlands: Bregje Heinen. Moldova: Alina Kirchiu Romania: Catrinel Marlon New Zealand Georgia Fowler Mexico Daniela Cosio Serbia Kristina Peric Russia Vita Sidorkina Australia Megan Irwin Denmark: Vanessa Moe Ukraine: Valeria Rudenko, Lithuania: Edita Vilkeviciute Poland Jac Jagaciak South Africa Nicole Meyer, Jessica Lee Buchman, Candice Swanepoel, Candice Boucher, Morgan Shelley etc ? Venezuela Mariangela Bonanini USA Taylor Hill, Brazil Adriana Lima, Daniela Braga, Luma Grothe, Ana Beatriz Barros, Sofia Resing, Lais Ribeiro too may to choose! Belarus: Zhenya Katava Turk and Caicos: Chrishell Stubbs France: Thylane Blondeau, Celeste Desjardins, Noemie Lenoir another hard one! US Virgin Island: Hannah Davis, Bahamas: Chase Carter Canada: Michea Crawford, Czech Republic: Petra Nemcova Slovakia Republic: Lucia Dvorska This is going to be pretty hard because we have our favorite model from each different country. Stromboli1 Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 Should've let BZ vote to choose each country's representative. Then do the matches right after they are FT at the WC, that way you could apply a scale for Wins, Ties, and Losses. For example: wins = gets the country 5 extra votes, ties = no votes gained or lost, and losses = lose the country 5 votes. Quote

~Serenity~ Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 Are you doing it exactly as the soccer game? Quote

All the models from Europe and Australia have been chosen through the European Models Tournament and Best Australian Model threads recently. I'd planned to do all the group matches on the same days as the actual matches in the World Cup, then carry on into the knockout stages; so - 13th June- 28th June - Group Matches (3 or 4 per day) 29th June - 3rd July - Round of 16 30/6 - 1st Group A v 2nd Group B and 1st Group C v 2nd Group D 1/7 - 1st Group B v 2nd Group A and 1st Group D v 2nd Group C 2/7 - 1st Group E v 2nd Group F and 1st Group G v 2nd Group H 3/7 - 1st Group F v 2nd Group E and 1st Group F v 2nd Group G 5th - 7th July - Quarter Finals 6/7 - Winner Match 1 v Winner Match 2 and Winner match 6 v Winner Match 5 7/7 - Winner Match 3 v Winner Match 4 and Winner Match 8 v Winner Match 7 9th July - 11th July - Semi Finals 10/7 - Winner Quarter Final 1 v Winner Quarter Final 2 11/7 - Winner Quarter Final 3 v Winner Quarter Final 4 13th July - 15th July - Finals 14/7 - Looser Semi Final 1 v Looser Semi Final 2 15/7 - Winner Semi Final 1 v Winner Semi Final 2 This way it completely mirrors the actual tournament. In the gaps between matches I could do some bonus rounds where models representing the actual football teams who make it to the finals play against each other. Quote
Mousematt Posted June 11, 2018 Author Posted June 11, 2018 Matches to last 24 hours - 1 vote equals 1 goal (so might be slightly higher scoring than real football! Quote

(No updates to her page in years) Tunisia – Kenza Fourati? (Nothing recent) or Sonia Ben Ammar (Tunisian parents) England – Niamh Adkins*Group H Poland- Sandra Kubicka* Senegal – Mia Aminata Niaria? Rama Diouf? (No posts for either of them for years) Columbia – Daniella Lopez Osorio Japan – Tao Okamoto Any interest? Other suggestions or ideas? Tunisia: Sonia Ben Ammar is more active S.Arabia: I prefer Shanina Switzerland: I prefer Julie In this case you should make a poll for Tunisia, S. Arabia , Switzerland or any other country where you have more than 1 model and the one that gets the most votes, that should be the model that represents the country. Quote

Sanni Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 It means BARF. And in any case, the representative for Germany was pre-determined via a past competition. Quote
