Depending on Mel's family history, she could have a predisposition to diabetes. Good thing it was caught in the prediabetes phase so she can make lifestyle and dietary adjustments. But yeah, still young and fit to be diagnosed with it.
August 30, 20231 yr Type 1 usually occurs during childhood and is rare with adults. One can still have a genetic predisposition to type 2 diabetes, which just means they are more susceptible to getting it than others. Anyways, it's good that Mel found out about it earlier and is open about it.
