February 13, 201510 yr Watched all of season 1 and 2 within a week. Can't believe it had taken me this long to watch. Excited for season 3 now!
February 20, 201510 yr Now I'm kind of annoyed I've gotten into the show.. I arrived late so I had all of season one and two to watch but now I have to wait like everyone else. But that was a great first episode, looking forward to seeing where all this leads; more battles, more gorgeous Lagertha... more shirtless Rollo.
March 11, 201510 yr I've been terribly slow in watching this... I'm still not done with season 1 actually but I'm really liking this show. The dynamics between Ragnar and Rollo are getting really interesting and I specially loved the depiction of the cultures clash between the Norse and the priest, specially concerning their religions of course, but in pretty much every other aspect of their lives. I thought the tension with the Earl would last longer though, but I'm curious on what will happen next concerning it's consequences. Great show so far, I'm really enjoying it and it looks like it's going to get better as I move forward.
March 22, 201510 yr Done with season 2. That ending Season 3 hasn't premiered here yet though, and I don't know when will it. Here it's broadcasted in spanish though, which sucks... There's always the SAP option to watch it in english but I got lost with their accents How many episodes of the new season are out already?

Was so intense watching, wondering who is going to betray who. Tomorrow (March 26th) will be the 6th episode of season 3.
March 26, 201510 yr Thanks! It was a great finale! I loved how everyones allegiance wasn't clear till the last minute.

April 7, 201510 yr No spoiler.... but.... the show is looking more like Game of Thrones lately, u know why
April 26, 201510 yr As much as I loved the previous two seasons, this season was a bust for me. The whole cry-fest for the priest was SO unnecessary. It ruined the entire season for me.
April 26, 201510 yr As much as I loved the previous two seasons, this season was a bust for me. The whole cry-fest for the priest was SO unnecessary. It ruined the entire season for me. I agree. I did like him as a character but I wasn't sad to see him go. I hope season 4 improves now that he has gone.
April 26, 201510 yr I wouldn't have minded the whole grief-struck Ragnar if he had shown the same amount of grief when his own DAUGHTER died. Sorry, I like to think that your daughter's death is more important to you than some random priest. I mean, I get they were close and everything, but Jesus, he has Floki and Lagertha, who not once betrayed him. I also didn't like how the female characters were used this season: Aslaug has a pretty big role in Norse mythology and in the series, she's just a baby machine, whereas Lagertha has lost some of her feistiness and is now stuck into some random marriage.
April 27, 201510 yr ^ I agree with everythig you have said. I mean, right.... your BFF was killed, poor you... Ragnar. But, wtf? your OWN daughter died a couple seasons ago, and you didn't suffer the half. WTF, MAN!?.... Also, Björn should have named his daughter after his dead sister, not after Siggy. Yeah, she saved your bros, but... c'mon! your sister!!! ... But still hope 4th season will fix it, I have my hopes on Björn and his brothers, I want a time jump.
April 27, 201510 yr For me, there were too many WTF moments and not in the good GoT style. The sudden obsession for Athelstan (which isn't love as many fans like to think); Bjorn's girl dumping him and their newborn baby over some face scars; the 50 shades of grey dungeon (seriously, how original). I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the actors (Travis is absolutely superb as Ragnar), but the writing was deplorable (I'm looking at you, Michael Hirst).
April 27, 201510 yr Ragnar's daughter died while he was away from home. Between her death and the start of season two, we never see him being told of her death. We don't know what his reaction was. After the battle with Jarl Borg, Ragnar says to his brother Rollo, "“Not that you’d care brother, but your niece Gyda is dead.” After that we finally see him head home, he goes to the beach and speaks with his daughter. He says one of my favourite quotes.“They say a man must love his sons more. But a man can be jealous of his sons. And his daughter can always be the light in his life. I know very well that you are with the gods. But I will wait here for a while, and if you want to come and talk to me, then come and talk. And I’ll gently stroke your long and beautiful hair once again…with my peasant hands.”It's obvious that months had passed since her death as Aslaug soon appears, pretty much ready to give birth. Gyda died from an illness, Athelstan was murdered right under his nose. He promised to protect him but he failed. Athelstan's death was a blessing. It gave Ragnar a good claim to convince the French Priest to Baptise him, and a chance to be buried in Paris upon his 'death'. Ragnar loved both, it's just different circumstances revolving around how they died. Remember how upset he acted when Lagertha lost their unborn son? Clearly he is more upset when he loses the males in his life. But yeah, the writing in season 3 wasn't that amazing most of the time. I am hoping season 4 improves on everything this season lacked.
April 27, 201510 yr I understand Ragnar used Athelstan's death for political purposes but was it necessary to drag it on and on for 3-4 episodes? That's my main peeve with this season; they could have covered so many events in Viking history and given Bjorn a more leading role instead of turning into Ragnar-Athelstan fanfiction come to life.
