They hit it off immediately, and soon after they moved in together and adopted a Cavalier King Charles named Buzz, Scott proposed on the sidewalk outside Marea, one of their favorite restaurants in New York. Little did Clara know that he had flown in her family from Sweden, and they were waiting for them at his parent’s apartment to toast the newly engaged as a group. The next night, the celebration continued when Scott surprised Clara yet again with a fete with family and friends downtown, making for a truly unforgettable weekend. The setting for the couple’s September nuptials was inspired by their love for the outdoors and fine dining. They wanted a location that could pay homage to some of the Scandinavian naturalistic touches Clara grew up with, while still being accessible for their many New York City guests. Blue Hill at Stone Barns made for the perfect fit. The bride wore the multilayered Tuberose dress by Jenny Packham and Jimmy Choo heels, and the groom wore Prada. The wedding party walked down the aisle to pop melodies played by an all-female string quartet, and the ceremony took place under a birch-structured chuppah.
