In late 1994 or early 1995, she left her native Holland for Paris and, in order to pay for French language courses, she got a job as a nanny in the family of photographer Annette Ornel.She was brought to the Marilyn agency by the Annette's husband-owner of a photo lab.

She has been horse riding since childhood, she is a Taurus, her favorite book is Madame Bovary.

At the time of the magazine article, she was 22 years old.
