Stuart Weitzman campaign Fall Winter 2018/19 photographed by Inez & Vinoodh.

I hope she gets big campaigns again for Fall Winter 2025. And I miss seeing her on big magazine covers. We haven't seen editorial work since September 2024!

Yeah, very disappointing indeed! Her management (both DNAmodels and Platform Agency) is doing a terrible job. I wish her mother agent/manager Sarah Keller were still alive. She would never have allowed this boring/weak comeback.

Posted

Glad she finally got something! She had never been on the cover of Double magazine before, which is very nice!

I'm not a fan of the cover and the hair/makeup, her expression and the photography. The no makeup look and wet or oily hair. It always looks like a before photograph. ..like she's not ready yet. The outfit fine and her pose is nice.

It's almost unbelievable how she hasn't worn any makeup for photoshoots since her comeback. The only makeup she wore was for D Repubblica back in February 2024! The rest of the time, she's either makeup-free or wearing a natural look that appears as if she's not wearing any makeup. I want to see creativity with hairstyles and beautiful or sexy makeup instead of the no makeup look. It is also a good way to show clients like L'Orèal and other makeup brands that she's still able to sell makeup!!

It's very unfortunate that she gets so lil work, and when she finally does get one, it disappoints as well.

Since she returned to work a year and a half ago, she has not received important jobs and nothings had very impressive results. Very disappointing overall.

She needs something A-list and with great result to show the industry that she's still great for cosmetica brands and A-list clothing brands, jewelry. But all her damn shoots are so weak and boring! Expectations for D Repubblica..D Repubblica was awesome! Great photography, great modeling, great makeup, etc.

Totally disagree with your subjective opinion. She is finally enjoying modeling during the rare moments it happens and she is too mature, wise and intelligent to chase silly jobs that she no longer needs. Her natural make up or no make up at all looks fantastic all the time! Her recent work is anything but boring. I love her even more!

Hasn't she stated that she is more in favor of a natural lifestyle? Not wearing makeup seems to be aligned with that statement.

Exactly!!!

That's just her personal style. It's not like she dismissed makeup/glam shoots as a model. She likes to glam for work, but on her days off she doesn't.

Well, good for you! However, I totally agree with you. It's just a matter of having totally different opinions, and that's perfectly fine. I just hate dull shoots! It's just too boring for me.

What defines "silly jobs"? Are you talking about silly million dollar contracts (prestigious cosmetics/jewelry/fragrance campaigns) or being featured in silly prestigious magazines like Vogue France/Italia/UK/USA, Elle USA, W, WSJ, Harper's Bazaar USA? LOL

I don't think you know how it works.

Also, many of her supporters such as Mario Testino, Patrick Demarchelier, stylist Brana Wolf, manager/agent Sarah Keller are unfortunately no longer active for various reasons (cancelled/stopped/deceased). They were responsible for many of her assignments.

Fortunately, she still has Piergiorgio, but unfortunately, he no longer work for Vogue.

But she also said some things on social media that some people in the industry didn't like (not going to repeat it if you don't know what I'm talking about).

So some important people in the industry, like Inez & Vinoodh, don't like her anymore. They used to like her a lot and were able to book her for many things. And Katie Grand might also don't want to work with Doutzen anymore. It's difficult for her to book significant work again because she does not have the big support of important figures like Katie Grand, Carine Roitfeld, Emmanuelle alt, Anna Wintour, or Steven Meisel.

I hope many people like it because I do not like it at all.

Oh LOL, from all people, i do know perfectly well how this silly industry works!!! Way toooo well, so i am well aware of all you are saying. Again you put too much subjectivity into your opinions and it seems you can not accept the fact that models grow up from little girls to mature women who luckily have an opinion and thank god at one point they feel confident enough to express it. And yes, i am refering exactly to those cosmetic million dollar contracts as silly jobs. Not only silly, but advertising dangerous unhealthy products who makes you look silly after all. Make up is nothing but grag. I used to love fashion when it was creative, beautiful, inspirational and involved many creative minds and beautiful models. Fortunatelly Doutzen cought the last wave of that era and did iconic jobs(with a very few exceptions). All the people from the industry that you have mentioned are no longer powerful names and it shows. Ugliness prevails everywhere in this horrible industry nowadays. It was always horrible, but at least there was some magic and beauty involved during late 80s, all 90s and part of the 2000s. Inez and Vinooth must be super silly indivuduals if they can reject Doutzen for what she said on social media. What she did back then is what made me fall in love with her and become a fan who collects her work. I always admired models and i follow many names. The fashion industry must be full of stupid and ignorant people if they critisized her for her wise opinions. For that reason models like Karen Elson disgust me with their opinion on that horrible subject. Doutzen is a perfect example of concios human being who loves to spread the truth no matter what! This is why i love her so much!

I find your opinion strange and irrelevant. And you can't handle criticism.

I can handle everything as long as it is acurate, adequate and logical. So far you talk like a blinded fan stuck in the past. And i did not see any critisism coming from you. We are just expresing opinions and obviously not agreeing with one another. You seem like a very bitter and unsatisfied fan of her( or are you really a fan?!). My opinion comes from a life of observation of this industry and admiring the beauty of those magnificent creatures we call supermodels. And again, i can handle absolutely everything. I just can not stand certain things...

You are almost right about that.

Overall, you should know better by now. I am a frustrated fan (see her transition from being an A-list model to a C-list model) who is giving my honest opinion. And you can't handle that.

Listing models in A or C list is something quite silly. Doutzen had her career already. She is a retired model who appears here and there whenever she pleases. Once being a supermodel they always remain one! There is nothing more she can achieve in this business, she had it all! Listing anything in whatever lists is a game that some people play to entertain themselves. Probably you are a very young person. That is the only excuse i can think of. I do not have to "handle" your opinions(whatever that means). I am just expressing my dislike and disagreement of them, that's all. And i tried to give some pointers to tell you that you might not seeing the picture very clearly. She certainly evolved into an amazing human being and superficial silly things do not interest her anymore( and thank god). Otherwise she would look as silly as Kate and Naomi who are still playing the silly game..lol. At least Doutzen has some dignity and common sense which you can not see and realize. Pity indeed!
