Good point. I’ve been thinking about this for a while, especially given her absence so far from the Cannes Film Festival, which, as you say, she’s been attending every year for over a decade. It’s true that it’s not over yet, in fact, Irina just arrived today (though from Milan, a short trip), but the festival ends on the 23rd, and if she hasn’t gone yet, I don’t think she’ll be making the trip from America now. On top of that, she didn’t attend Coachella either, a festival that has always been a must for her, one she’s also attended without fail for many years. “CoachAle,” she used to say. For the first time in a long while, I feel like she’s fallen pretty far out of the spotlight for brands. And judging by the pace at which she’s been posting on Instagram in recent months, her lack of professional activity certainly doesn’t seem to be her decision, unlike with Doutzen, who doesn’t work much more because she doesn’t want to. In Ale’s case, it seems like she wants to draw attention back to herself by being very consistent with her Instagram posts. And it’s a shame that’s the case because I think she’s one of the models who has aged the best, if not the best. She looks incredible; I’d even say better than ever. But as you say, unfortunately, it’s kind of typical of her career, she’s an underrated model compared to other top models of her era.
