Omahyra Mota or sometimes just Omahyra (also known as Omyhra Mota and Omarah Mota) born Omahyra Mota Garcia on November 30th, 1984 is a Dominican model and actress. She made a name for herself in the fashion industry as a chic punk model.

Biography

Mota was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic but moved to New York at the age of 10 with her mother, grandmother, two sisters and brother, as her mother wanted her to have a better life and study at better schools. Her mother also believed she would one day become a model and constantly urged her to send photos of herself to modelling agencies and told her every day that someday she'd be famous. She was first discovered by Boss Models at the age of 16 and has since made quite an impact on the world of modelling.

As a Model

Mota has modeled for designers such as Bill Blass, Cynthia Steffe, DSquared2, Fendi, Nina Ricci, Sean John, Baby Phat, Heatherette, Jean Paul Gaultier, Roca Wear. Also, she was flown in especially by Gwen Stefani for L.A.M.B.'s show during New York's 2005 Fashion Week.

As an Actress

Mota has had small acting roles in a few films, making her acting debut in Brett Ratner's After the Sunset and then appearing in State Property 2 in 2004. Recently Mota has attracted some attention by landing the role of Stacy X in the upcoming X-Men movie X-Men 3.

Omahyra is in Jay-Z's latest video, "Change Clothes".

She pops up near the end.

Here's a few screencaps. I apologize for the quality. VH1 doesn't seem to like me.

:o Wow, I was wondering if she had a thread here. I like her look, she's very edgy. It's a cool look.

Does anyone know if she still does things for Rocawear?

She looked a tad masculine in X Men 3, but she played the part well  yay for Arclight

Some random pics of her... the last one shows her in X-Men 3.

(She's my alltime-favourite model)

she's amazing. Kind of universal charm - can be like a boy, girl, woman, men...
