Prettyphile
Get committed to “American Horror Story: Asylum” with this first teaser promo! Being commited this October, only on FX, the new season is set at an East Coast asylum for the criminally insane in 1964, and revolves around Jessica Lange’s new character — a nun — and her boss at the institution, played by James Cromwell. Clea Duvall, Chris Zylka, Joseph Fiennes, Chloe Sevigny, The Voice’s Adam Levine, Mark Consuelos and newcomer Lizzie Brochere round out the cast. Other returning cast members set to play new roles include Sarah Paulson, Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe. The first installment of “American Horror Story” earned 17 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, tying for the most of any program this year and setting a record for the most Emmy nominations for a miniseries in basic cable history. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Dante Di Loreto and Tim Minear are Executive Producers of “American Horror Story: Asylum.” It is produced by 20th Fox Television. Prettyphile
Meet 10 Characters From “American Horror Story: Asylum”!!! New Season Also Has Aliens? Adam Levine plays Leo, a newlywed visiting modern-day Briarcliff with his wife. Jenna Dewan Tatum plays Teresa, Adam Levine’s wife. Lily Rabe plays Sister Eunice. Joseph Fiennes plays Monsignor Timothy O’Hara. Jessica Lange’s character is crushing on him, but I don’t see it working out. Chloë Sevigny plays nymphomaniac inmate Shelley. Sarah Paulson plays lesbian journalist Lana, who is committed to the asylum by her own girlfriend after she nearly exposes Briarcliff’s darkest secrets. Evan Peters plays Kit, an inmate who claims his wife was abducted by aliens. Jessica Lange plays Sister Jude. Zachary Quinto plays Dr. Thredson, “a psychiatrist whose forward-thinking ways conflict with Sister Jude’s management style.” James Cromwell plays Dr. Arden. Per EW, “the not-so-good doctor is behind one of the season’s newest frights: the Raspers. The mutated humans lurk in the forest outside of the institution and are a product of Arden’s diabolical experiments on Briarcliff’s inmates. Arden may or may not be a Nazi.“

Prettyphile
Are you on Season One or Two? I gotta say season 2 is blowing me out of the water. Half the time I'm sitting there in absolute awe, the other half blinking and going wtf? lol
jessicanicole
Season 2. It's great. I actually jumped during the demon possession because I wasn't expecting it at all. Demons, aliens, mutant creatures. It has so many different angles.
Prettyphile
I'm excited that they're branching away from the ghosts stories and actually delving into America's Urban Legends and tales of Horror. If they keep up on this path and the quality of acting and writing remains the same, this show could go on for many years. America has a lot of dirty little secrets and urban legends they can pull from. Also do you get the feeling that Dr. Arden's character is based after German SS officer and a physician in the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz Josef Mengele? jessicanicole
Exactly. They're branching out and keeping viewers guessing which only pulls them in more. I do. The experiments on the patients mirror the experimenting seen in the concentration camps. Claiming that its science is what really makes me see the connection.
