In many threads there are images that cannot be displayed... It seems to be happening in patches, here and there... ☹️

what the hell is happening. many images getting 404 errors. and videos are only now visible while logged in.

Oh oh pages and pages of images that are gone/lost. Will they return? x

EDIT2: New uploads now seem to be served in their original format, with no conversion.

We are trying to move to avif. We did webp as a stopgap as the hardware we had could only convert 0.6img/sec to avif. But we now have a pipeline that is significantly faster, so we can actually keep up with the 3000 images/day + 15mil backlog. The quality level is q64 which is higher than the webp settings we had (and equivalent to the orignal jpegs). The size reduction is ~50-70% so its signifcant for our bandwidth and storage costs.

I don’t mind the change; I was mostly curious whether it was intentional or a bug. I did a side-by-side comparison between an original high-res (6000x4000) JPG and the AVIF version after uploading, and I couldn’t tell much of a difference even when zooming in on fine details such as wrinkles/skin texture/outfit details. One example went from 3.9 MB (JPG) to about 930 KB (AVIF) while keeping the same resolution, so that’s quite impressive.

Also, you should consider adding an optional donation page so members who want to can chip in toward hosting/storage costs. I’m sure quite a few of us would.

And thanks for the offer, ill try and set something up once i get all this stable. I am trying to re-enable ads for the first time in years for guests. Although most people have ad blockers these days, but lets see what happens.

Was the "image hidden for guests to view" an intentional and permanent change? I assume it was either to stop bot scrapers or just encourage people to create an account and log in? Just curious about the change, is all.

I wouldn't be opposed to a donate option via paypal if it's a one-off thing if it helps server costs.

I saw the same on two others fashion models like Ieva Laguna and Bridget Malcolm. Can these pics be renewed or could it be they are too old or something?
