I still get giddy whenever I discover new finds If you plan to listen to "The Antlers" I suggest you start off with "Hospice" The album as a whole is utterly brilliant in my opinion and simply drift away blissfully. The best song to demonstrate that being "Bear" Thanks for sharing - I like it a lot Quote

red_ed Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Any particular opinion on Wild Things, M*? I haven't had the chance to sit down and listen to it properly (it's such a soft, delicate album and I'm always listening on a noisy bus <_<) but I had the feeling they couldn't have done too badly given the how epic Two Dancers was. Michael* Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Any particular opinion on Wild Things, M*? I haven't had the chance to sit down and listen to it properly (it's such a soft, delicate album and I'm always listening on a noisy bus <_<) but I had the feeling they couldn't have done too badly given the how epic Two Dancers was. I'd say 'Two Dancers' is maybe 5% more of a masterpiece but generally, I think 'Smother' stacks up pretty well - quite different hearing Hayden and Tom singing in harmony when they usually trade off vocals. Both albums were criminally under-appreciated though, as is the band in general. Quote
donbot Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 01. Beach House - Teen DreamI half-jokingly called this my album of 2010 way back in January and not only have I not heard anything that tops it, I'm still obsessed with it almost a full year later. I'd even go so far as to say that it's become an all-time favourite. You did it again 99% sure that I've just heard my album of 2011. Marry me, Anna Calvi! Puts a lot of pressure on January 2012 now Quote
Michael* Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 There's a few albums due out this month that I'm quite looking forward to, though I'll be surprised if lightning strikes three times. No pressure, January 2012... Quote

red_ed Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 seriously, this is the better version: That was awesome! Thanks for posting. For me, the only drawback was the guy that sang the first verse. I don't think he captured the emotion of the song very well, but he still did a decent job. Quote
