snmkytkn
Dear Miss you won't believe what I found in one my vintage Vogues. It is American edition dated July 1981. There are a lot of pictures of Annette. I am happy to share them with you so I scanned them. Here they are:
snmkytkn
it´s interesting how different were those supermodels from today´s, isn´t it? Yes they were more womanly, more real. They had meaningful gazes. Today's models(most of them) have a vacant look, they look as if they are very tired of the world and the life itself. I think this shouldn't be what a "model" projects. She should send out messages about a positive outlook about life. She should give you a reason to look at her pictures. In one of his songs Billy Joel says something like "one look at her face and I can face the world again". We can guess who was he talking about. Can anyone take a look at, say, Gemma Ward or some other model like her, and be filled with a power to face the world again? I can't help but wonder who decides what models should look like in a decade or so?

I can't help but wonder who decides what models should look like in a decade or so? I see what you mean, and agree but on the other hand, face of the world has changed a lot - so has people, and so models and designers had to, too. You can see a variety of models nowadays, they can be the same, and they can be very different, there are healthy ones, skinny, fragile, strong...and I like that face of fashion, it´s so versatile! Take Gemma as an example...she´s not "full of life, strong and healthy" but she´s that kind of fragile princess that inspires you...she´s a muse, a wonderful, woman-girl, oh, I could draw her for months! Take Marissa Miller, healthy, strong and sexy...full of life, take Gisele, my absolute fav, as a clever, beautiful, down to earth, Alessandra, so sexy and lively, Eugenia, classic, special, gorgeous...womanly!! And there are much more of them, I can´t name all there are also skinny models, and there´ll always be ya know Nowadays models are like..I think they make you actually think about life, wonder, adore or hate...some of them show you hell and some heaven, they inspire, they lead or follow... maybe they don´t make you face the world again, rather show you the face of the world..I think

snmkytkn
Dear Jennka, I can't help but agree with you after thinking again. The versatility is important. Anyone can find what he or she wants. But I don't think I have seen Marisa Miller. I wonder what she is like. I will search on the internet. I think Jessica Stam is too perfect to be human... that profile...that nose. Lily Cole reminds me one of my students. She has a gaze that tells you to stay away. She wants to be away from everyone. She has a hard look. But there is something in some of her pictures which makes me, kind of want, to protect her. This is the pic I am talking about. Among the new models I also find Ruslana KOrshunova interesting.
