I can understand those being wrong because of the country being overwhelmed and a lack of testing. Reporting the number of deaths is more important. Countries should report the number of deaths accurately. I think you are right about Ecuador's deaths number, it seems low. Hopefully, not too many countries join China, Iran, etc. in faking their number of deaths. 15 minutes ago, Stromboli1 said: Sweden is going to be bad too as I've reading they've been doing daily pro migrant marches. The countries I keep thinking are going to have real problems soon are the largest and more densely populated countries which are still in the early stages. In addition to the large populations, many of them have very little testing. I'm thinking it will be bad in Brazil, Nigeria, India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, The Philippines, among others. Of course, if they lie about their numbers, we may not know how bad immediately.

Hmm... like when the mayor of Firenze in Italy encouraged people to "hug a Chinese", a couple of weeks ago, just when the outbreak was coming into Europe... or like when the Mayor of NYC said that people should go to Chinatown and mix with people in the tube claiming that "covid is not dangerous". So progressive... Spoiler

Yes, these countries are really at risk, but it's more than probable that they will lie or at least that they won't have enough testing to report accurate numbers. As always, I'm grateful to know that I'm in developped country. I know I'm very lucky and I'm grateful to the people that helped to build our system (even if it's not perfect).

Countries that have large migrant populations which are enforcing the same rules as on their citizens are going have big problem as well as their duration period. I think Africa in general is going to get hit hard especially with their lack of medical facilities and supplies along with other poor countries.

So progressive... Reveal hidden contents A lot of countries downplayed the Corona at every levels of government which should get some blame, but ultimately most of the blame is on China for lying how bad it was which left little reaction time.

I have enough chicken and broccoli to last me 5-6 weeks
April 2, 20205 yr Some countries are classifying deaths in a dishonest way. For example, if a patient was never tested for covid-19, but has clear symptoms of covid-19 dies, their death may be said to be a result of pneumonia or respiratory problems instead. Maybe that's not technically lying, but it's still misleading at a minimum.
April 2, 20205 yr The two towns are now 160 infected as of March 30th- I think the numbers have been spooking people out and it was more empty than usual. Bergen County at 3,494 infected, 75 dead- with a further 4,500 positives to be distributed throughout the state. USA at 215,000 infected (with half in tri-state- 83000 in New York State), 1,375 dead in NYC https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html

I am eating in a way to minimize going to the grocery store. To my understanding, the particles are most easily transmitted in enclosed spaces- and the irony is that only the pharmacies, gas station, and grocery stores are open. I read that according to recent tests, it floats in the air for a maximum of 3 hours and then falls on surfaces. I think a mistake that many people are making is not protecting their eyes. The particles can infect you through the eyes, too. Today I was told that my mother's office closed as someone got infected from going to the hospital to pick up paperwork. He had the face mask but not eye protection. It might be better to always wear sunglasses, too.
April 2, 20205 yr There are not many countries reporting the virus like Brazil. The ministry of health seems to give official numbers for both confirmed and suspected cases while most countries only report confirmed. It gives a more realistic picture of the larger number of people with symptoms. It's probably not a great idea to trust the president of Brazil to be honest with this, but maybe he is letting the ministry of health do its job?
April 2, 20205 yr The numbers have a serious lag, the real number of infected is definitely much greater.

I don't think what I have seen on that is clear to me. This is how I understand it now, but I'm not sure it's correct. If someone coughs, sneezes, or talks, what comes out of the mouth can travel a significant distance but gravity pulls it to the ground quickly. (different studies give different distances that can be covered) During medical procedures like intubation and CPR, a person expels what is in the mouth in more of a spray and that's what can stay in the air for up to three hours.
April 2, 20205 yr Yes, I read an article that was something like. It seems that many news articles downplay its abilities. I don't entirely believe it, as it seems that CV is poorly understood and it has spread like wildfire. If it was so clumsy, why so many people getting infected? (rhetorical question). I also thought of mosquitos and biting flies. It's getting warmer. I searched articles and they claim that these insects are not known to transmit them. I dunno, we'll see? This is important for me as I'm outside everyday.

I'm not about to pay $4.50 for a fucking pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream either. 47 minutes ago, Cult Icon said: For the past 4 weeks I've only eaten bland food: diet rations (frozen broccoli and chicken), some frozen meat from storage and fresh vegetables, bread, rice, peanuts and packaged snacks and chocolate. April 2, 20205 yr I think we can all agree the info out right now sucks shit, as we learn more it'll turn the tide which will hopefully reduce reinfection and more waves in November and February.
April 2, 20205 yr Right now, the grocery stores around here are roughly at 5-10% capacity based on viewing their parking lots.
April 2, 20205 yr People all over the country are buying a record number of guns during the crisis. Most of them are city folk, you know the anti 2nd amendment crowd. I know in New Jersey you have to write an essay to get a gun.

I have a lot of frozen meat (pork and chicken) and some shrimp, but the hardest part is putting the effort to cook them.
