Trends and Crazes in Modeling

I was just wondering what you all thought about this because when I first came here, VS was just the biggest thing here. It was in sets everywhere, anywone associated with VS would dominate all challengers in the polls, speaking a word against one of them would get you quoted and told off by like 9 people ect. . Now they lost their best overall model (Gisele) one of their 2 biggest personalities (Tyra). KK is gone, Izabel is gone, Alessandra and Adriana are becoming mothers ect.

They have people they expect to carry the torch obviously. Marisa Miller gives them someone who can communicate with an American audience and Candice is perfect for them, but either way, its obviously not what it was and can't really be called a "craze" still or at least doesn't appear so.

ANYWAY, don' get me wrong, this isn't another VS thread its about trends in general and what you think is next. I want to know any of the following.

1. What do you think the next big craze in fashion will be? Is it on the brink? Or is it not perceptible yet?

2. What are your favorite and least favorite trends?

3. What (plausible) trend would you like to see take place?

4. Anything you would like to share on the subject in general.

i have many thoughts on the subject.. but ill start small

remember a few y rs back.. 'doll like' and alien' types were so in vogue??

well, i dont think weve seen ANYTHING y et.. with models like

Ranya Mordanova and Iris Strubegger... the alien craze is back and looking way more interesting than before

its weird.. in alot of pics.. she looks like a freak version of daria ... and i love it!!

i also think that there will be a trend toward 'healthy' bodies... with hilary rhoda,lara stone,catherine mcneil and coco rocha

maybe we wont feel the urge to feed all the models we see a steak sandwich

and a trend i HOPE that takes place is that the modelling world adds a few damn brunettes.. i mean.. all the blondes are gorgeous.... but yawn... id kill to see some smokin brunettes on the runway and in print.

thats all i can think of at the moment... ill be back when i have more to yap about

I'm definitely for the "alien" models getting some love in high fashion .

As to the brunettes, to tell the truth I hate to say I didn't notice brunettes were underdogs in comparisson to blondes because I just kindof subconsciously blended them (the white ones that is) together whereas with white women RED is the color I generally take specific notice of . Like when girls go from blonde to brunet and brunet to blonde I generally don't notice until someone brings it up :ninja: .

But of course as to general brunnetes the Brazilian "craze" seems to have helped to add diversity in that way and the way Brazil keeps pumping em' out I don't see it going away any time soon .

I've noticed a small comeback of come classic/healthy type beauties. I still don't know all their names to give an example () (I guess Catherine McNeil does come to mind) but I am glad to see it coming back! That's what I love about classic beauty, it never dies or goes out of style. It's always "in" (maybe the only time is wasn't, was during the Brazilian craze (exotic types) or the alien/babydoll craze. (which I've noticed the latter is dying down recently those babydoll types seem to not be near as popular anymore these days.) and I don't really follow too many new models, but Im not seeing very many new "babydolls" but I could be wrong.....
