I always stay at The Dorchester, because the service is amazing. What advice would you give a tourist? Pack a lot of warm clothes that can be layered, regardless of the season, because the weather is unpredictable and it can get chilly. What’s your earliest London memory? Drinking Guinness in a pub in Notting Hill. I rarely drink but that was memorable. What would you do as Mayor for a day? Give everyone a day off. Which London shops do you rely on? I go to Topshop for great basics; Smythson for the amazing notebooks, diaries and leather goods; Harrods is just a brilliant experience for anyone; Jimmy Choo for a fabulous pair of shoes; and Portobello Road for vintage. What are your guilty pleasures? Fresh flowers and salted caramels. What was the last gig you saw in London? Coldplay’s private concert last year. It was incredible. I absolutely love Coldplay. What’s your life philosophy? Do the best you can and try not to hurt anyone intentionally along the way. What animal would you most like to be? A dolphin. I would like to explore the marine world through their eyes. Where did you last go on holiday? I went to St Barths to stay on a friend’s boat for New Year. I also went to Necker Island with a group of friends and caught up with Richard [branson] and his family. And back in Australia I had a holiday in Gunnedah in New South Wales, where I was raised, with my grandmother. What was the last album you bought? Volume One by She & Him. What makes you laugh? Monty Python cracks me up every time. What are you up to at the moment? I’m travelling around the world like a mad woman and I’m also developing my skincare range, Kora. Who’s your hero? My grandma, because she never ceases to amaze and inspire me. What’s your favourite fashion find? It changes daily, but right now it is my new blue Prada tote handbag. What’s the best place for a date in London? It’s better to get out of London and go to the countryside for a little romance; there’s nothing nicer than a picnic in the English countryside. But I also love visitingHampstead Heath. What’s your favourite London club? Soho House has a great vibe and I have always had lots of fun there. Have you ever stolen anything? I’ve taken several amazing vintage pieces from my grandmother’s wardrobe, such as a long summer dress with a distinct white, yellow, orange and green floral print and a vintage Chanel tweed jacket in black and white. But it was with her blessing. Which designers do you admire? Miuccia Prada. I admire her ability as a businesswoman and love everything about her clothing and accessories. And Nicolas Ghesquière [of Balenciaga] because he is forward-thinking and innovative. He can design pieces that make a statement but can be worn season after season. Which models do you admire? Christy Turlington, because she achieved success with such grace and elegance and I respect what she stands for in terms of health and wellness. What is your first fashion memory?
