July 17, 2024Jul 17 @Lilja K slightly better than A NEW HOPE. Harrison Ford is still terrible. Always shouting and pointing with his finger on people (literally). His character is just awful and annoying. He's still constantly mocking Leia allegedly having "feelings for him" she's not "admitting" because she's afraid for "having a real bad man in her life". I was like what is this dude talking about!!??? He's constantly entering her personal space, touching her when she's clearly telling him she didn't want him to do, his flirting is TERRIBLY intrusive and if that isn't all enough already his "best friend" is also constantly hitting on her. I would have scream if I was her, really. It's one of the worst "iconic" love stories I ever witnessed in my movie life. I'm kinda shocked how people can mock movies like 365 DAYS, 50 Shades of Grey and Twilight but thinking this one is any better 😨 I also was highly irritated by Mark Hamills face and thought for a moment they changed the actor. Then I learned he was in a serious car accident and had some facial recoveries and reconstructions. He was really hot in this scene though. Those 2 are the best 😄

In some old movies, "toxic" love stories are presented as the norm. Also, in the entire series, the subtleties of human relations are not given importance. Striking picture, badass heroes, this is a mass movie. And now nostalgic feelings prevent people from looking at flaws. I understand.
July 17, 2024Jul 17 @Lilja K it's still the whole father/son dynamic + parallels that made the whole franchise for me. Love everything about this storyline It's really well made and like the glue of everything past, present and future.
July 18, 2024Jul 18 I came to the conclusion the OG Star Wars trilogy wasn't made for me @Lilja K Still glad I watched them for the overall picture of the franchise.

July 18, 2024Jul 18 What the fuck? First part was Interesting, the real and true Life about some people with drug adictions. This second IS boring, slow, some schozophrenic and the awful sex scene IS a s*** * The flowers in the House of the "star" are Lovely. * It was a Big mistake because I was in mistake about the actor. In the cinema the male actor in first part It was like Ed Westwick, but of course he isn't.
July 20, 2024Jul 20 Nice. I love that places, buildingd, rooms...all clean and elegant. Fun, sensitive and well manners. Not my favorite film but good taste and recommendations. * My favorite is the sensitive blonde but the dark hair is funniest.

Clunky dialogs, TERRIBLE stiff acting from every single cast member, everyone looks and moves so weirdly confused like they had no clue what the hell they're actually doing. I mean I'm aware this movie was made in the 70s (different time, different possibilities, even though technically the movie looks just fine to me for past standards) but everything else was just painful to watch (kids who are threatened with beatings if they don't obey, women with barely any dialogue standing to cook in the kitchen, the "hero" constantly mocking Leia for her "dumb female" lead), I'm still amazed I made it somehow through the whole mess 🤣 Star Wars was made in the 1970s- people communicated differently back then. I personally found a lot of the 'classics' in the 1970s to be very underwhelming when I watched them. I haven't watched Star Wars since I was a teenager but it was something I watched many times, and it (and indiana jones films) was left on in the background in family gatherings to entertain me and relatives. The genius of Starwars was the original world building, all the visuals (which created a big market for Star wars toys and other things) and how they matched it with the mythological 'heroes' journey' character structure.

You must be the first person that I've ever seen saying that they don't like the Star War OG trilogy lol. My personal favorite is the Empire Strikes Back (out of all Star Wars films I've seen). I think it's a better film than Star Wars, which I didn't rewatch very much. I also like Return of the Jedi as a kid a lot but it was not as good as Empire. We left Empire & Return over and over again on loop at my uncle's house. I still like the battle and space sequences, and the confrontation between Vader and Luke in Empire is iconic and one of the classic confrontations/reveals in film history. I like the Indiana Jones movies even more though, especially Raiders & Last Crusade. It was also left on loop at uncle's house.
July 21, 2024Jul 21 My favorite classic Science fiction film is probably Blade Runner Final Cut. I like Aliens and Alien as well.
