January 28Jan 28 https://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/execs-anxious-over-leonardo-dicaprio-paul-thomas-anderson-collab-excl/ A article saying studio execs are worried about OBAA. Studio execs underestimate their audience. Eccentric/ existential films are performing really well of late. Everything Everywhere all at once won best film. Poor things was completely gonzo but everyone loved it and Emma Stone won best actress.

January 29Jan 29 Watched Daddio with him and Dakota not long ago. I dunno when he lost respect in Hollywood (and for what reason for saying controversial stuff he isn't the first one) but I still think he's one hell of an actor Sean Penn Sparking Early Oscar Buzz for PTA’s ‘One Battle After Another? It’s way too early to speculate about next year’s Oscars, but industry insider Kris Tapley, who last worked for Netflix, has decided to start the campaign early for Sean Penn. He’s echoing what I previously reported about Penn’s performance in Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another”; the man is said to be “absolutely terrifying” as Col. Steven J. Lockjaw. I reported that, apparently, Penn “steals the show” as Lockjaw. Sporting a grey-ish hawk, his character is described as a “great villain” that has the power and presence to give you nightmares. Tapley is taking it a step further, implying that an unnamed Oscar-nominated filmmaker recently told him that Penn could very well win a third Oscar for his work in PTA’s film: You mean, the same Sean Penn who slammed the Oscars as “limiting” and even offered Ukrainian president Volodomyr Zelenskyy the “honor” to “melt down” one of his Oscar statuettes? “The Oscar is there in his office, and ready to be melted any time he wants to melt,” Penn told CNN in an interview. He called the “gift” of the statuette “a small gesture, symbolic between two friends – inspired by my continuing shame towards the leadership of the Motion Picture Academy in choosing to present Will Smith smacking Chris Rock rather than the greatest symbol of cinema and humanity living today. Their loss.” No word yet on whether Zelenskyy actually took Penn up on his offer and melted down the Oscar.

He’s been accused of domestic abuse. He went to jail for physically assaulting someone on set and he also spent time in jail for reckless driving. He’s assaulted others throughout the years too, but hasn’t gone to jail for those. I think he was too high a risk for films to get insurance for.

Here we go again...🙄 But I still agree he is a great actor, Sean Penn I mean. @Sugarwater, If my mind serves me right, I think he has been accused of domestic abuse against Madonna right?

I believe Madonna was one of them.
January 31Jan 31 17 hours ago, Sugarwater said: Yes. I believe Madonna was one of them. Madonna herself denied it just sayin. Madonna, however, has denied that there was ever physical abuse in her marriage to Penn. “While we certainly had more than one heated argument during our marriage, Sean has never struck me, ‘tied me up,’ or physically assaulted me, and any report to the contrary is completely outrageous, malicious, reckless, and false,” she wrote in a 2015 statement while testifying on Penn’s behalf in a defamation lawsuit against Lee Daniels. The actor had filed a $10 million lawsuit against Daniels at the time after the Empire creator referred to Penn when discussing domestic violence in Hollywood. (Daniels was defending Empire star Terrance Howard, who had admitted to hitting his first wife Lori McCommas in a 2015 interview with Rolling Stone.) The lawsuit was settled in 2016. https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/sean-penn-denies-abusing-ex-madonna-shes-someone-i-love/
