Victoria's Secret Angel Lindsay Ellingson rides to end cancer

 

This weekend, Victoria's Secret Angel Lindsay Ellingson took part in Pelotonia, an annual grassroots bike tour that raises funds for the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Center. The 28-year-old Angel rode 50 miles alongside more than 6,700 riders with one goal: to end cancer.

 

StyleList spoke to Lindsay before the race to find out how she was feeling and why this charity is so important. "This charity is near and dear to my heart. I'm riding in memory of my grandma," said Lindsay. Lindsay's grandma passed away from cancer six years ago and the Angel knows how important cancer research is to finding a cure. "They've come so far in the six years since her passing. There is strength in numbers. I've participated with Supermodel Cycle at Soul Cycle for three years and we've raised more than $750K. Taking the next step and riding with this group was a no brainer."

 

In preparation for the 50-mile race, Lindsay, who normally takes part in yoga switched her exercise routine to biking, hiking, and endurance training. "I'm a little nervous, but I have the support of all the other riders and I know crossing that finish line is going to be amazing," Lindsay remarked.

 

Lindsey finished the race completing more than 50 miles on her bike.
