I don't know how Television Academy works. I was sure that The Sympathizer would get quite a lot of noms, especially Outstanding Limited Or Anthology Series, but it didn't come true.

How do voters decide to vote for a particular candidate, what influences their choice and whether they really watch all the candidates (they should by definition, shouldn't they?). For example, this shitshow Emily in Paris has Emmy and Golden Globe noms (how?).

Since also a show like THE IDOL was nominated for at least one category I learned a show doesn't have to be good to be nominated 😆 But I think the same of some movies at the globes, oscars etc

 

I think like most nominations voters vote for shows, performances and actors which somehow left an impression (good or bad doesn't really matter it seems). By that amount of shows it's first impossible to watch everything and secondly to remember everything so something that sticks get the votes I could imagine.
