"Every day we improve a little"

Real Madrid's young striker doesn't forget about how he missed three clear chances against Hannover 96; he continuosly says he was too hasty. It is very rare to hear such self-criticism in football nowadays. The Argentine, like his teammates, wants to be in optimum for for the Spanish Super Cup.

How do you feel about the new style you are training for?

I feel good about it. The other day I had clear chances on goal, but I missed them because I was too hasty. I still have a lot to learn and I must continue working hard in the preseason in order to be ready for the first Super Cup game against Sevilla.

The team's style is changing...

The coach wants this team to attack all the time, and that's how Real Madrid should be anyway. We should always do our best to win. If we keep possession of the ball we'll eventually play very well and score more goals.

Is being cool headed the key?

Yes, we shoudln't be hasty. We must do what the coach asks of us. We naturally didn't like to lose against Hannover 96, but this is the start of the preseason and we've been working only for a few days. People should be calm; every day we improve a little.

The team has a vigorous attack...

Yes, we did well to dribble past their defenders. I didn't score, but we created chances and that's the most difficult thing to do. I know I'll soon score goals. We only have a few days to get fit for the Spanish Super Cup. We are a great team and we have many creative and fast players. The important thing is to reach an optimum physical form. We have to take advantage of the quality of players capable of giving the perfect assist, such as Guti and Raúl. If things go well we will be strong contenders for every title this season.

Real Madrid's Higuain: Barcelona lost focus

Real Madrid attacker Gonzalo Higuain believes Barcelona have taken their eyes off the prize after last week's defeat at Getafe.

Asked about Barca's recent form slide, Argentine Higuain said: "What really worries me is Real Madrid, but they have made good signings and have a great team.

"I think the cause of their problems is a lack of concentration, but surely in the final section of the championship they will be fighting for the title."
