  1. I have high hopes for the second part too! I've never read the books, but I like how he took many "medieval fantasy" tropes and applied them to sci-fi. Lucas did the same with Star Wars, but the result is quite different. SW is a really hopeful story, while Dune seems to be darker. The political framework seems to be different too: Lucas played with the idea of the resistance against an empire (which somehow echoes to WW2), while Dune is about feudal clans/houses within an empire. I like this idea too. Knighthood (or Samurai) is always present in these stories and I love it. I'm playing dragon age inquisition at the moment, and I like the political setting in this world too!
  2. Kate Beckinsale! What a beauty.
  3. I said precisely the opposite: the favorable outcome is having police patrolling the streets. You're caricaturing: nobody said they want teenage patrols in the streets. No offence, but it's another straw-man argument fabricated by media outrage. Belgium is a small country. Also, why do you compare police spending with defence budget? It's apple and oranges. Defence budgets are typically lower than police in the West. What matters is the comparison of spendings on "public order and safety" expressed as a % of GDP. It's around 2% in Europe (1.8% in Belgium) and it's the same in the USA. BTW, even if it was higher in the USA, I would understand it: the violence is rising in this country. (Sources if you want to see for yourself: here and here)
  4. But then again after having tasted a Souls game, every other game seems bland.
  5. ^ I really loved the Witcher 3. Of course, it's not perfect and I guess the biggest complain I'd have is that the gameplay is too easy: you can roll in front of every enemy indefinitely, which basically makes you're a fighter with infinite endurance (you're the flawless soldier...). I prefer a Souls-type gameplay: there's more challenge. I also prefer the Souls weapon system, with each weapon having its personality and fighting style.
  6. In my gameplay, Ciri became a Witcher. It seemed more logical to me. Triss visits Geralt at the vineyard (cause she's my favorite female character). My ending in B&W is that the sisters finally get along together and vampires are not happy with Regis cause he killed Detlaff. Regis is supposed to be left for dead in the books right?
  7. Good for Sandmann. The media tried to destroy his life because... he smirked. Then, they wonder why people don't trust journalists The mainstream media want to fabricate monsters, so that they can be the "heroes" who slaughter them.
  8. This movie is huge! I can't wait for the next one.
  9. They'll never be held accountable. They never are. There's no law against lies in journalism (or censorship in social media). They say that their "reputation" is the guarantee against liars, but... they're the ones who make reputations, so they're judge and party, which means they'll get away no matter what. Until people's distrust with them is so high that things fall apart. At this point, this'll all be a crazy mess.
  10. This mess happened because politicians crippled the police (remember "defund the police"). Journalists at CNN and MSNBC are rich people who can afford private security, so they don't understand that modest people need the police. No civilized society should defund the police. This kid wanted to help people in a riot situation. He possibly had a savior complex (which is not compliment), but there's no law against it. I don't know if he's innocent or not, justice will tell, but it seems that the prosecutor in his trial is very dubious. He denied Rittenhouse his right to remain silent (that's borderline and anti-humanist, but apparently when you oppose the Far Left in North America, you are denied your basic human rights) and the prosecution pressured a witness to change evidence (WTF?!). Once again, partisan politics is poisoning justice. Anyway, I don't want to argue over this, but I hate to see the little guys getting used as pawns in powerful people's devious games.
  11. Hey Vixen, it's awesome to see you back! Keep up the good fight.

  15. Wow, it looks even better than in the trailer!
  16. The Regis and Geralt "old buddies' relationship" is a great part of B&W. A nostalgic discussion with a friend on a twilight is one of these rare and great things in life. This scene encapsulates it perfectly. And I like how Geralt breaks the 4th wall in the end.
  17. I think I might buy this watch and use it when I run. https://techcrunch.com/2021/11/09/withings-scanwatch-review/
  18. It's annoying to see that MANY brands have the "same" prices for France (Europe) and the USA, except one is in € and the other in $. But the exchange rate is between 1.15 and 1.25!!!!! So, we're getting screwed by 15 - 25%!
  19. I hadn't seen this trailer before... and, well, it's slightly caricatural (just slightly)
  20. It does look really good! How is the gameplay?
  21. Yep, and we are right to be angry at this campaign! Because, in the meantime, in Afghanistan, where women are REALLY oppressed (unlike in Europe), here's what happens: Disgusting.
