Leonardo DiCaprio (GENERAL DISCUSSION)
Just posting this two article because always wondering why no one is ever talking about the fact how Leo learned being naked with teenagers in front of a camera from the very beginning, telling the world how fine and normal everything was on set because of the mature of Claire Danes for her very young age. That makes it ok of course lol He even kissed 13 years old Natalie Portman for a R&J screen test and god knows how many more teenagers he had to kiss we don't know of. I mean... it's a household problem made in Hollywood and sometimes I think those young actors like Leo were victims of the big hollywood studio system as well as all those young girls. Maybe not in the exact same way that's not what I'm implying but imagine back then a practically nobody Leo would've said "no I'm not kissing one single lips of these underage girls" like Claire and Natalie. End of his career. This is what I call all wrong. The normalization of sexualizing minors and just downplaying it like Baz Luhrman and yeah Leo too. How anyone ever come up with the idea of letting a literal child kiss an adult and thinking that could have been worked in any way leaves me speechless. ‘Romeo + Juliet:’ How Filming a Shirtless Scene With Leonardo DiCaprio Was One Way to Break the Ice Between Him and Claire Danes Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio were an interesting and at times intense pairing on set. There have been several reports of the two fighting with each other over the years, whereas some others claim they were very fond of one another. Danes, however, once personally shared what it was like filming with a much younger DiCaprio. And quipped how filming a shirtless scene in the Romeo + Juliet helped break the ice between them. Why Baz Luhrman compared Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes to ‘two kids on holiday’ In an interview with Heat (via Press Reader), Romeo + Juliet director Baz Luhrman touched on the complicated relationship between DiCaprio and Danes. Although he acknowledged there was some chemistry between them, he saw them more like siblings. “There were arguments between Leonardo and Claire,” Luhrman said. “Sometimes they were like two kids on holiday.” This might align with some reports that claimed sometimes Danes found DiCaprio too immature. Meanwhile, DiCaprio allegedly saw Danes as uptight. But it’s worth noting that neither Danes nor DiCpario has confirmed or denied these claims. Why Claire Danes quipped filming a shirtless scene with Leonardo DiCaprio was one way to breeak the ice between them Although Luhrman might have seen DiCaprio and Danes’ relationship as more akin to sibling rivalry, John Leguizamo’s opinion was slightly different. As their co-star, Leguizamo had a front-row seat to the interactions between DiCaprio and Danes. “I think Leo and Claire had crushes on each other,” Leguizamo teased. “But they kept it all very professional. Nothing was ever done, and that’s great, because when you consummate an attraction, you defuse the tension on screen.” After Leguizamo’s remark, Danes shared that their very first scene together in the movie was an intimate one. But she also quipped that this take might have only helped their new relationship. “The first scene we filmed was the morning-after scene, where Romeo and Juliet had just made love,” Danes said. “So there we were, shirtless. It was one way to break the ice.” The ice-breaking might have been needed since, initially, Danes and DiCaprio were a bit intimidated by each other. “Leonardo is a wonderful person, complex and charismatic. He is a lot of other things, too. He knew which buttons to press. I think I was scared of him and he was scared of me, and that created a useful tension for the movie,” she added. How Claire Daines impressed Leonardo DiCaprio in their ‘Romeo + Juliet’ audition Leonardo DiCaprio auditioned with several hopeful actors who wanted to be Juliet. But ultimately, Danes impressed him more than anyone else he rehearsed with. Part of the reason was because of Danes’ maturity. But it was also due to a very subtle skill of being able to make eye-contact with DiCaprio. “She was the only girl when we did the audition who came straight in my face to do the lines. She said them looking at me right in the eye,” DiCaprio told Entertainment Weekly. “And some of the other girls did, like, the affected flower thing. You know, they stroked their face and looked up and tried to do things with their eyelashes, and it was not nearly as truthful as Claire’s performance.” Source Leonardo DiCaprio: Why a Studio Objected to Him Kissing Natalie Portman Leonardo DiCaprio and Natalie Portman are both huge celebrities so many studios would want them to kiss onscreen. However, one studio hated a screen test they did together. Here’s the reason why Portman didn’t get a role in one of DiCaprio’s classic films. Natalie Portman auditioned for a role in one of Leonardo DiCaprio’s earlier films Today, DiCaprio and Portman both have well-known romantic roles under their belts. DiCaprio played romantic leads in the period pieces Titanic and The Great Gatsby. In addition, Portman played Senator Amidala in Attack of the Clones, the Star Wars film which is arguably the most romance-focused. However, their early careers were different. DiCaprio didn’t become a romantic lead until he starred in Baz Luhramann’s Romeo + Juliet. In the film, he played Romeo Montague. According to BuzzFeed, Portman was considered for the role of Juliet, however, it ultimately went to Claire Danes. During an interview, Portman explained why she didn’t appear in the film. “It was a complicated situation and it had to do with at the time I was 13 and Leonardo was 21 and it wasn’t appropriate in the eyes of the film company or the director Baz [Luhrmann],” Portman said. “And it was kind of a mutual decision that it just wasn’t going to be right at the time and I think the film came out really, really beautifully and Claire Danes did a really, really beautiful job. It just wasn’t the right time, you know?” In a separate interview with The New York Times, Portman went into greater detail about how people at 20th Century Fox were upset when they saw her kiss DiCaprio in a screen test. “Fox said it looked like Leonardo DiCaprio was molesting me when we kissed,” Portman said. Around the same time, she also turned down the title role in an adaptation of Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita because it dealt with underage sexuality. How casting a younger actress would have stayed true to William Shakespeare’s play — and offended modern sensibilities Shakespeare penned Romeo and Juliet over 400 years ago. Obviously, cultural standards have changed significantly over that span of time. In the play , Juliet is 13 years old. Over the course of the play, she falls in love and gets married. It’s not clear how old Romeo is supposed to be, however, it’s no longer culturally acceptable or legal for a 13 year old to get married in many countries. Casting a young Portman in the part would reflect the text of the play, however, it would make many people very uncomfortable by promoting a retrograde attitude toward marriage. Some adaptations of Romeo and Juliet try to remove this dated element from the story. For example, Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” is loosely based on the play and doesn’t mention Juliet’s age. Romeo + Juliet doesn’t either, which makes sense. After all, it’s a modernization of the story — and it reflects modern values. Source

Leonardo DiCaprio (GENERAL DISCUSSION)
^Agree. It's ok to dislike a celebrity but the lack of good behaviour and respect from people on most social platforms are more disgusting than anything Leo ever did allegedly.

Leonardo DiCaprio (GENERAL DISCUSSION)
^See the irony? This is exactly why we had this discussion today. Because in the internet people can write and say whatever they want, truth or lie it's almost impossible to say no matter how often someone is claiming the info is "quite accurate".

Leonardo DiCaprio (GENERAL DISCUSSION)
^So this woman is claiming Leos "old" manager assaulted underage girls what Leo knew. Yeah I mean that's terrific tea thx for sharing. Honestly what's wrong today??

Leonardo DiCaprio (GENERAL DISCUSSION)

So you can say this is wrong and that is wrong but you can't explain why you think it's wrong? Then yes I don't see a point in this discussion too because this is not how a discussion works in the first place lol
-
Leonardo DiCaprio (GENERAL DISCUSSION)
^but why is it wrong when he was only attracted to her when she was an adult? Sry for being so persistent I just try to understand your view. Because to make it wrong you have to think Leo was already attracted to her when she was underage no?
-
Leonardo DiCaprio (GENERAL DISCUSSION)
^ So you wanna seriously tell me if your family would be friends with Leo you had a crush on since you're 12 years old and when you finally old enough to date him and he wants it too, you would say no?
-
Leonardo DiCaprio (GENERAL DISCUSSION)
^boundaries are just there for Leo to keep but not for his fans. Don't be ridiculous, girl

Leonardo DiCaprio (GENERAL DISCUSSION)
^So you basically saying everyone who is sexually attracted to -for instance- Emma Watson (or for the females Tom Holland) is "not making the best choice" because the whole world knew them since they were kids?

Leonardo DiCaprio (GENERAL DISCUSSION)
Every time I see a new post here I'm a little afraid to read Leo ended things with his almost 25 girlfriend and I'm always so releaved to see it's not - no matter how ridiculous the actual discussion might be Yeah I came that far these days LOL Personally I couldn't care less if they broke up now or next week, month, year whatever but I admit I'm already afraid for the ugly backlash like it's anyones business. I mean I would agree to be concerned if his dating actions would be illegal or actually hurt those women but from what I see and know it doesn't so I don't really get the fuss nor I will. Even if I don't understand how his relationships really works... do I have to as long it works for the actual two people in this relationship? (in this case Leo and Cami) And lets be clear: none of us has to date or follow his life or watch his movies if we don't want it. I mean you can say whatever you want but the people who are always whining how weird and ugly and fat and pedo he is but still watching his movies are part of the "problem" too (if you want to call it like that because I'm convinced Leo is harmless compared to others in Hollywood). Without an audience Leo would be nothing. As long as people don't quit him he will be successful. We are part of his massive success with following him, discussing him, watching his movies since almost 30 fucking years!!! For me people calling out Leo for being the "problem" here when they actually all part of it is the most hilarious thing ever. But yeah pointing out other people's faults is always so easy.

Oscar Futures: Who’s in the Lead As Voting Begins? Best Picture Current Predix Belfast, Being the Ricardos, CODA, Don’t Look Up, Dune, King Richard, Licorice Pizza, The Power of the Dog, Tick, Tick … Boom!, West Side Story Best Director Down Adam McKay, Don’t Look Up If there was a surprise in the DGA noms, it was the lack of McKay, who’d gone two-for-two with the guild since reinventing himself as a prestige filmmaker. Don’t Look Up otherwise performed well, hitting with the PGA, ACE, and WGA, but it’s these kinds of nagging indicators that keep the asteroid satire from looking like a true top-tier Best Picture contender. Current Predix Paul Thomas Anderson, Licorice Pizza; Kenneth Branagh, Belfast; Jane Campion, The Power of the Dog; Steven Spielberg, West Side Story; Denis Villeneuve, Dune Best Actor Current Predix Benedict Cumberbatch, The Power of the Dog; Leonardo DiCaprio, Don’t Look Up; Andrew Garfield, Tick, Tick … Boom!; Will Smith, King Richard; Denzel Washington, The Tragedy of Macbeth Source

Leonardo DiCaprio (GENERAL DISCUSSION)
Just something striking my mind: Kristen was his first love (or at least the first woman he was probably more serious about) and she left him I think around 2000 (most sources say 97/98 but that's definitely not true because she was with him in Thailand while The Beach was shot). After they split she said he was immature and had to grow up (something what's coming up til today about Leo and his relationships or why they ended). So all this happened around the Leo mania - a time where he had barely control about most people/womens crazy reaction about him and his whole life changed forever very drastically and not necessarily by his own choice. Maybe I'm all wrong but we all know this time had an massive impact upon him not only as actor and celebrity but person again til today. And it all happened when he was himself around 25 no? Maybe all of this is deep down kinda connected in him. Maybe it's not even about the women, but him. Or maybe I see just ghosts from the past and stop this now lol 👻
