While it was a minor role, Smith's final scene struck a chord with viewers in how he went down with his ship. A huge star like De Niro could have ultimately mesmerized viewers and distracted them from the character's important role in real-life and the film. Just posting because Leo is already two times in his top 50 - also I like his little reviews Tarantino’s love letter to 60s Hollywood is maybe the best hangout film ever made and a film every cinephile should love. Almost everything about it is spectacular. It’s such a fun film to watch and it gets better on every rewatch. One of Tarantino’s best in my humble opinion. I can hangout with Rick and Cliff all day long. The film that won Leonardo DiCaprio an Oscar. It’s way more than that though. Iñárritu crafted a compelling revenge story by taking us on an insane and brutal journey. It also has some of the most beautiful and unique cinematography I’ve seen in a film with amazing performances. And that final shot… c’mon man. Incredible film all around. Source
