  1. Just posting because damn the 2000s were a pretty great decade for Leo. I mean GONY (where everything started with him and Marty), CMIYC, Aviator, BD, TD, RR plus two of his most underrated movies TB and BOL. The Best Leonardo DiCaprio Movies Of The 2000s, Ranked According To IMDb After gaining worldwide recognition for Titanic, the 2000s are when Leonardo DiCaprio cemented himself as one of the greatest actors in Hollywood. Leonardo DiCaprio is no doubt one of the greatest actors of this generation. While he received worldwide recognition for his role in Titanic, the 2000s saw the acclaimed actor break away from being just known as a teen heartthrob and cement himself as one of the best actors in Hollywood. While it wasn’t until 2016 that he won his first Oscar, the 2000s highlighted DiCaprio’s versatility and incredible range through his bold and diverse roles. It’s no surprise that most of his movies released in the 2000s received high IMDb ratings, and many of these performances will no doubt go down as some of his best. 9/9 Don's Plum (2001) - 5.7 If there’s such a thing, Leonardo DiCaprio's character Derek in Don’s Plum is one of his lesser-known roles. Also starring Tobey Maguire and Kevin Connolly, the low-budget indie film tells the story of a group of 20-somethings who gather at a restaurant called "Don’s Plum" every Saturday night - and that’s about as far as the plot goes. The highly improvised movie was filmed over six days between July 1995 and March 1996, however, wasn’t released theatrically until 2001. Rumors have swirled about the movie over the years, with DiCaprio and Maguire reportedly not wanting it released at all, as reported by The Guardian. Due to its legal implications, the film was banned in the US and Canada (Republic World). 8/9 The Beach (2000) - 6.7 After the unimaginable success of Titanic, there were high expectations for Leonardo DiCaprio’s next film. Unfortunately, The Beach didn’t come close to matching the success of Titanic. In the Danny Boyle drama, DiCaprio stars as a young adventure-seeking traveler named Richard who is in search of a legendary island paradise. The dystopian drama was considered a flop when it came out and severely underwhelmed at the box office. While Leonardo DiCaprio is no doubt one of the greatest actors the world has ever seen, this movie is often forgotten among his success. 7/9 Body Of Lies (2008) - 7.1 The acclaimed Ridley Scott has directed countless classics, so when it came to an action thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russel Crowe with Scott at the helm, it was ensuing to exceed expectations given the talent behind it. Unfortunately, Body of Lies failed to stand out, despite its huge potential. DiCaprio plays Roger Ferris, a CIA agent who is operating in the Middle East trying to capture a radical Islamic terrorist. While it's often overlooked, that’s not to say it isn’t good and is simply one of the great Leonardo DiCaprio movies that many have never heard of. There is plenty of action with a consistently well-paced narrative, with both DiCaprio and Crowe giving convincing performances. 6/9 Revolutionary Road (2008) - 7.3 Eleven years after the release of Titanic, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet reunited onscreen for the first time in the romantic drama, Revolutionary Road. The Titanic pair made for one of the most iconic movie couples of all time, so it’s no surprise that fans were quick to compare Winslet and DiCaprio's onscreen romance in Revolutionary Road. The story follows Frank and April Wheeler, a struggling husband and wife who try and cope with the breakdown of their marriage. The movie received generally positive reviews and while it’s not one of DiCaprio's most notable films, his convincing portrayal of the smooth-talking salesman is up there with his best. 5/9 Gangs Of New York (2002) - 7.5 Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are one of Hollywood’s greatest duos and Gangs of New York is the film that marked their first collaboration together. Set in 1863, DiCaprio plays the Irish catholic Amsterdam Vallon, who plots revenge against the man that murdered his father. Based on Herbert Asbury’s novel of the same name, the film also features Daniel Day-Lewis as a brutal gang leader and Cameron Dias as an Irish immigrant. While the movie received generally positive reviews, many believe that DiCaprio was outshined by the captivating performance of Daniel Day-Lewis, for which he received an Oscar nomination. 4/9 The Aviator (2004) - 7.5 The next collaboration between Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio was The Aviator, and this time, the stakes were raised. DiCaprio took on the titular role of Howard Hughes, a billionaire filmmaker and aviator whom many believe is one of the best main characters in a Scorsese movie, Starring alongside Cate Blanchett and Kate Beckinsale, DiCaprio plays Hughes in the height of his fame, while depicting his deteriorating mental health and severe OCD. DiCaprio’s accurate portrayal of the eccentric tycoon was flawless and earned him his first Oscar nomination since What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. 3/9 Blood Diamond (2006) - 8.0 Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Djimon Hounsou, Blood Diamond follows the story of Rhodesian smuggler and mercenary Danny Archer, who forms an unlikely team with local fisherman Solomon Vandy. Set during the Sierra Leone Civil War, the two embark on a dangerous mission as they hunt to recover a rare diamond. The war thriller received positive reviews and highlighted the brilliant performances of both DiCaprio and Hounsou. To accurately play a Rhodesian-now-Zimbabwean native, DiCaprio had to act with a South African accent, and despite the accent remaining divisive among fans, the role garnered the actor with his third Oscar nomination. 2/9 Catch Me If You Can (2002) - 8.1 Directed by the legendary Steven Spielberg, Catch Me If You Can depicts the story of Frank Abagnale Jr., one of the most successful con men in American history. The brilliant cat and mouse caper stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Frank and Tom Hanks as FBI agent Carl Hanratty, who makes it his mission to capture the young con artist, while also harboring a level of respect for him. The movie perfectly captures DiCaprio's boyish charm and has produced one of his most likable characters to date. Spielberg's genius and seamless direction tells the real-life story in a light-hearted and comical manner, while DiCaprio's performance showcased his incredible range as an actor. 1/9 The Departed (2006) - 8.5 Martin Scorsese remains one of the most talented directors of all time, yet somehow, he had to wait until 2006 to receive his first Oscar. Featuring a star-studded ensemble of Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, and Matt Damon, The Departed follows Billy Costigan, a Boston Police trainee who is sent undercover to infiltrate mobster Frank Costello’s crew. The story of good-cop-bad-cop is violent, funny, and most importantly, a warning that no one can be trusted in this dark world of crime. The Scorsese masterpiece is up there with the greatest gangster movies of all time and is living proof of why he will always be king of the gangster genre. Source
  2. ^In 2003 when Leo was at the german tv show "Wetten dass..." he made pretty clear that his priority in life is his career and not starting a family. I know he wasn't even 30 back then and probably thought he has lots of time but I tend to think that this attitude never really changed deep down in his heart - constantly dating women under -well- 30 where a career is mostly in focus kinda confirmed it. And now he is slowly running out of time. At this point you have to consider he would made a pretty "old" father. The older he gets now the less he has time with his children you know what I mean? Beside from this children can be EXHAUSTING. Not saying Leo is an old man who can't handle a family anymore but still that's something you have to want to. I mean in the best possible scenario he would be 80 when his kid is 30 more likely even older especially when he wants more than one child. Maybe at some point he decided he's literally just too late for the party. However I think you're right @BarbieErinthere are multiple reason why he hasn't kids not just one particular like not finding "the one". This is probably the closest we got. Can't help but Cami truly looked how I imagine her pregnant (kinda glowing and soft and even more beautiful than usual).
  3. never bet against Leo is all I'm saying at this point in my fan life.
  4. He probably read our last big discussion few days ago in the other thread and thought ok I was wrong, being the voice for some rivals much smaller penis isn't the worst thing in the world #leo being still bigger than tommy #eiffel tower
  5. I think if Leo was "official" we would know. So far Leo is the only name attached to this project isn't he? So like the newly founded oscar theme I would say "anything can happen" at this point.
  6. WTF? ‘Pam & Tommy’ Considered Asking Leonardo DiCaprio To Voice A Talking Penis Before Landing On A Much Better Choice The last two years, the Emmy for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance has gone to Maya Rudolph for her pronunciation of “bubble bath” on Big Mouth. Maya Rudolph is an icon, but for the 2022 Emmys, let’s shake things up a bit and give the award to another Big Mouth cast member — not for Big Mouth, though. Folks, it’s time for Jason Mantzoukas to win an Emmy for voicing a talking penis on Pam & Tommy. Not just any talking penis, either, but Tommy Lee’s talking penis. I won’t spoil too much about the scene from the second episode of the gloriously trashy Hulu series (you can read more about it here), but Entertainment Weekly has an enlightening breakdown of the sequence, including someone saying, “I can’t think of a more fun and cuddly way to get away with extended full-frontal male nudity. It’s a puppet, it’s like Yoda.” As for how Pam & Tommy landed on Mantzoukas to voice Tommy Lee’s Yoda-like talking penis, well, who else could it be? It’s perfect casting. But co-showrunner Rob Siegel admits a few other names were considered. “We batted around your DiCaprios. Everyone came to the table with their own completely left field choices that everyone else thought was ridiculous,” he said. “I remember he was just somebody that we all pretty quickly agreed on. There were a few others but he has a relationship with Seth [Rogen, who plays safe-stealing dirtbag Rand Gauthier in Pam & Tommy].” Leonardo DiCaprio has an Oscar, but does he have an Emmy for voicing a penis? Exactly. To be fair, neither does Mantzoukas… yet. Your move, Emmys. (Via EW) Source
  7. Wondering if that will effect the project with Leo in any way - like not happening anymore. How do you even get the idea to compete against Leo voluntarily? lol Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Chloe Grace Moretz have signed on to star as cult leader Jim Jones and Jonestown survivor Deborah Layton in White Night. Last year we announced Leonardo DiCaprio had also signed on to play Jim Jones in a film produced by him and MGM. From his base in San Francisco, the charismatic preacher Jones built a large and devoted following. In 1974, he established “Jonestown” in Guyana. It was there, on November 18, 1978, that Jones commanded his followers to drink poison. More than 900 people died in one of the largest mass murder suicides on record. Yikes! Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a great actor but he has some big cojones because the comparisons with DiCaprio will be unavoidable. As it is the case with competing projects with the same subject matter, one films always ends up being a low-quality offering. Which of this projects do you think will be the best? Levitt’s or DiCaprio’s? Source
  8. Now I'm really excited for this: Feels like anything can happen.
  9. ^Can't believe they snubbed Andrew 😭
  10. ^agree 💯 What I tried to say is that experiences from the past -bad and good ones- can emboss us til today and it's sometimes hard to let pattern go especially when they seemed totally fine for so many years. And I guess Leo is always surrounded by young women who wants something from him. In other words being admired by young girls is normal for him since -I don't know- the early stages of his fame. It's just part of his daily life so what make us wonder sometimes is probably nothing special for him at all. I'm watching Entourage right now, which some people are claiming based losely of Leos life back in the pussy posse days but more likely on Mark Wahlbergs early expierences in Hollywood since he produced the show (plus lots of Leos friends are in this show). Leos name is mentioned several times already - like almost every celeb + tons of huge cameos from James Cameron to U2 & Scarlett Johansson (I'm only at season 2). However it's interesting to get an idea of how hollywood works. And Adrian Grenier is cute.

  14. Just posting this two article because always wondering why no one is ever talking about the fact how Leo learned being naked with teenagers in front of a camera from the very beginning, telling the world how fine and normal everything was on set because of the mature of Claire Danes for her very young age. That makes it ok of course lol He even kissed 13 years old Natalie Portman for a R&J screen test and god knows how many more teenagers he had to kiss we don't know of. I mean... it's a household problem made in Hollywood and sometimes I think those young actors like Leo were victims of the big hollywood studio system as well as all those young girls. Maybe not in the exact same way that's not what I'm implying but imagine back then a practically nobody Leo would've said "no I'm not kissing one single lips of these underage girls" like Claire and Natalie. End of his career. This is what I call all wrong. The normalization of sexualizing minors and just downplaying it like Baz Luhrman and yeah Leo too. How anyone ever come up with the idea of letting a literal child kiss an adult and thinking that could have been worked in any way leaves me speechless. ‘Romeo + Juliet:’ How Filming a Shirtless Scene With Leonardo DiCaprio Was One Way to Break the Ice Between Him and Claire Danes Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio were an interesting and at times intense pairing on set. There have been several reports of the two fighting with each other over the years, whereas some others claim they were very fond of one another. Danes, however, once personally shared what it was like filming with a much younger DiCaprio. And quipped how filming a shirtless scene in the Romeo + Juliet helped break the ice between them. Why Baz Luhrman compared Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes to ‘two kids on holiday’ In an interview with Heat (via Press Reader), Romeo + Juliet director Baz Luhrman touched on the complicated relationship between DiCaprio and Danes. Although he acknowledged there was some chemistry between them, he saw them more like siblings. “There were arguments between Leonardo and Claire,” Luhrman said. “Sometimes they were like two kids on holiday.” This might align with some reports that claimed sometimes Danes found DiCaprio too immature. Meanwhile, DiCaprio allegedly saw Danes as uptight. But it’s worth noting that neither Danes nor DiCpario has confirmed or denied these claims. Why Claire Danes quipped filming a shirtless scene with Leonardo DiCaprio was one way to breeak the ice between them Although Luhrman might have seen DiCaprio and Danes’ relationship as more akin to sibling rivalry, John Leguizamo’s opinion was slightly different. As their co-star, Leguizamo had a front-row seat to the interactions between DiCaprio and Danes. “I think Leo and Claire had crushes on each other,” Leguizamo teased. “But they kept it all very professional. Nothing was ever done, and that’s great, because when you consummate an attraction, you defuse the tension on screen.” After Leguizamo’s remark, Danes shared that their very first scene together in the movie was an intimate one. But she also quipped that this take might have only helped their new relationship. “The first scene we filmed was the morning-after scene, where Romeo and Juliet had just made love,” Danes said. “So there we were, shirtless. It was one way to break the ice.” The ice-breaking might have been needed since, initially, Danes and DiCaprio were a bit intimidated by each other. “Leonardo is a wonderful person, complex and charismatic. He is a lot of other things, too. He knew which buttons to press. I think I was scared of him and he was scared of me, and that created a useful tension for the movie,” she added. How Claire Daines impressed Leonardo DiCaprio in their ‘Romeo + Juliet’ audition Leonardo DiCaprio auditioned with several hopeful actors who wanted to be Juliet. But ultimately, Danes impressed him more than anyone else he rehearsed with. Part of the reason was because of Danes’ maturity. But it was also due to a very subtle skill of being able to make eye-contact with DiCaprio. “She was the only girl when we did the audition who came straight in my face to do the lines. She said them looking at me right in the eye,” DiCaprio told Entertainment Weekly. “And some of the other girls did, like, the affected flower thing. You know, they stroked their face and looked up and tried to do things with their eyelashes, and it was not nearly as truthful as Claire’s performance.” Source Leonardo DiCaprio: Why a Studio Objected to Him Kissing Natalie Portman Leonardo DiCaprio and Natalie Portman are both huge celebrities so many studios would want them to kiss onscreen. However, one studio hated a screen test they did together. Here’s the reason why Portman didn’t get a role in one of DiCaprio’s classic films. Natalie Portman auditioned for a role in one of Leonardo DiCaprio’s earlier films Today, DiCaprio and Portman both have well-known romantic roles under their belts. DiCaprio played romantic leads in the period pieces Titanic and The Great Gatsby. In addition, Portman played Senator Amidala in Attack of the Clones, the Star Wars film which is arguably the most romance-focused. However, their early careers were different. DiCaprio didn’t become a romantic lead until he starred in Baz Luhramann’s Romeo + Juliet. In the film, he played Romeo Montague. According to BuzzFeed, Portman was considered for the role of Juliet, however, it ultimately went to Claire Danes. During an interview, Portman explained why she didn’t appear in the film. “It was a complicated situation and it had to do with at the time I was 13 and Leonardo was 21 and it wasn’t appropriate in the eyes of the film company or the director Baz [Luhrmann],” Portman said. “And it was kind of a mutual decision that it just wasn’t going to be right at the time and I think the film came out really, really beautifully and Claire Danes did a really, really beautiful job. It just wasn’t the right time, you know?” In a separate interview with The New York Times, Portman went into greater detail about how people at 20th Century Fox were upset when they saw her kiss DiCaprio in a screen test. “Fox said it looked like Leonardo DiCaprio was molesting me when we kissed,” Portman said. Around the same time, she also turned down the title role in an adaptation of Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita because it dealt with underage sexuality. How casting a younger actress would have stayed true to William Shakespeare’s play — and offended modern sensibilities Shakespeare penned Romeo and Juliet over 400 years ago. Obviously, cultural standards have changed significantly over that span of time. In the play , Juliet is 13 years old. Over the course of the play, she falls in love and gets married. It’s not clear how old Romeo is supposed to be, however, it’s no longer culturally acceptable or legal for a 13 year old to get married in many countries. Casting a young Portman in the part would reflect the text of the play, however, it would make many people very uncomfortable by promoting a retrograde attitude toward marriage. Some adaptations of Romeo and Juliet try to remove this dated element from the story. For example, Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” is loosely based on the play and doesn’t mention Juliet’s age. Romeo + Juliet doesn’t either, which makes sense. After all, it’s a modernization of the story — and it reflects modern values. Source
  15. ^Agree. It's ok to dislike a celebrity but the lack of good behaviour and respect from people on most social platforms are more disgusting than anything Leo ever did allegedly.
  16. ^See the irony? This is exactly why we had this discussion today. Because in the internet people can write and say whatever they want, truth or lie it's almost impossible to say no matter how often someone is claiming the info is "quite accurate".
  17. ^So this woman is claiming Leos "old" manager assaulted underage girls what Leo knew. Yeah I mean that's terrific tea thx for sharing. Honestly what's wrong today??
  18. Can I say how much I love dumb people who're telling other people how dumb they are while doing what themselves in all glory? Riiiiight, dumb things Be careful where you spread such "quite accurate infos" in the internet or Leo sues your dumb ass because of defamation LOL In other words:
  19. So you can say this is wrong and that is wrong but you can't explain why you think it's wrong? Then yes I don't see a point in this discussion too because this is not how a discussion works in the first place lol
  20. ^but why is it wrong when he was only attracted to her when she was an adult? Sry for being so persistent I just try to understand your view. Because to make it wrong you have to think Leo was already attracted to her when she was underage no?
  21. ^ So you wanna seriously tell me if your family would be friends with Leo you had a crush on since you're 12 years old and when you finally old enough to date him and he wants it too, you would say no?
  22. ^boundaries are just there for Leo to keep but not for his fans. Don't be ridiculous, girl
  23. ^So you basically saying everyone who is sexually attracted to -for instance- Emma Watson (or for the females Tom Holland) is "not making the best choice" because the whole world knew them since they were kids?
