Lmao VS slowly climbing back on top in the industry by signing Grace. You gotta respect their hustle for getting back up and dusting themselves after everyone said no successful model worth their salt would touch an angel contract with a 10 foot pole. Grace is IT! Her ability to snatch vogue covers is as game as her securing campaigns. This is the biggest win VS has had in a very long time. The only thing that comes close is Barbara P. (then Leomie). She photographs like a dream, amazing on the runway, and seems to be the classiest angel they’ve probably ever had. VS has halfway climbed their way back to the top. The notoriety of having Grace is beyond! If Grace continues in her hf streak, she’s going to end up being so major than she already is. That said, it saddens me that Candice, who’s still gorgeous as hell and with that body, not only seems to be leaving soon, but she’s also working less outside of VS. Bitch is only 30, and is already disappearing into oblivion. I feel she’s a walking stereotype that perpetuates the notion that a model’s career dies after 30. I mean, it really does feel like she was on top of the industry just yesterday and today, gone? Its probably her decision but damn I just feel like her star is still burning but she’s putting it out.

I do miss the Brazilian era and I wish it would stay forever but tbh they’ve survived in this industry for like 2 decades, that’s massively impressive. They’ve had a long run and most of Brazil’s imports will be remembered in history. Before the Brazilians it was the Russians but they didn’t have such an impactful run nor the longevity as the Brazilians. Which nationality seems to be the leading force now? The point is, it is universally accepted that VS isn’t where it once was and that includes not offering mega contracts like 10 years ago. That however doesn’t mean that the angels are receiving peanuts for salary. Most of them are satisfied with it enough to know that it is an easy way to make money and it’s a job you can do for years. I also very much doubt that Kaia makes as much as the angels or the people you grouped her with. I also have to disagree with hf success opening doors for commercial gigs. I mean to some extent it’s true but Gigi, Bella, Irina’s success in high fashion is solely because they were popular commercial models and it was then that high fashion realized that using girls that have mainstream popularity/Instagram numbers would be good for brand visibility/marketing. That’s literally the only reason Kendall and Gigi are everywhere today. And why Kate Upton was booking covers like Vogue Italia Karlie was a high fashion darling and she was very successful in that area but the general public didn’t know who she was. Her real commercial success came when she signed with VS (and of course friended Taylor Swift). There are a lot of successful high fashion model who still haven’t transitioned to the commercial world, at least not successfully. See someone like, Freja or Edie Campbell

Perfectly summed up what I was too lazy to type. Another thing is, a VS angel would go by a higher paying rate than regular models for the same jobs. They also have side gigs like sponsored post on Instagram because of their followings. Say what you must but their angels sleep well at night knowing that their bank accounts are loaded.
