Andreea Diaconu
Ralph Lauren. New York Fashion Week. S/S 2015. De Beers Jewellery. F/W 2014. Andreea stars in the F/W 2014 campaign of De Beers, the South African jewellery house. The brand announced it today: "We are delighted to announce the unveiling of our new Advertising Campaign featuring Andreea Diaconu, who was chosen for her natural beauty and elegant charm. Andreea was photographed for the campaign by Mary McCartney". The advert (shot in black and white) will be the first brand-focused advertisement with a model (rather than just the product) in the last five years. According to the brand, the choice of model is meant to convey an "effortless, natural beauty". The ads will break on Friday in the October issue of Vanity Fair, and will appear in major titles including Sunday Times Style, The New York Times, and W Magazine. Video. Thanks for all the updates! Thank you very much, Veronika! I can't remember if I had seen him before. Probably not. But looking at him, I can't help thinking something hateful. Love and relationships are not about appearance (and maybe they shouldn't be) but it's surprising how many women who are considered among the most beautiful in industry (not to say in the world) tend to choose men who are...average looking? weird looking? (whatever you want to call them. I guess you know what I mean. I wouldn't like to be offensive) I know that beauty is a matter of personal taste but even so, it's surprising to me. And I'm not thinking only about Bianca. Thanks for the pics. They were a finding to me.

Coco and Zac Posen have made a documentary (not sure about its contents) and it'll be launched on September, 12. "We basically had a Formula 1 pit stop backstage at #ZacPosen to pull off my 3 looks in one show last night. You’ll see more on the documentary we’re debuting on the 12th! #FollowMe #NYFW @styledotcom @thescene @voguemagazine". The more I see her with short haircuts, the more I miss her long hair. I mean, it's not that short hair looks bad on her. But it makes her look older and hardens her facial features, in my opinion.

El Palacio de Hierro. Elisa attended the Rodarte fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2015 on September 9, 2014 in New York. Some more from Gettyimages and another photo agency (which means watermarks, sorry). I love the dress (by Rodarte?). Another bag by Charlotte Olympia. And her hair looks lovely... Darker with not so much of those lightened ends (which look great on her too, but I prefer this style). 7-Ayam Magazine. September 2014. Elisa was interviewed by Mirna El Helbawi for this Egyptian magazine and the issue will be available tomorrow. I think she's on the cover too (you know, it's in Arabic. I'm not sure if it's the cover). The picture is from her last editorial for "The Edit" (June 2014).

Elisa at Diane Von Furstenberg Fashion Show yesterday. Outfit by Diane Von Furstenberg and handbag (again) by Charlotte Olympia (no comments, again). Edited: September, 9. Speaking of Diane Von Furstenberg, I remember this designer interviewed Elisa some years ago (2010, at most 2011). The result was a very interesting interview. I don't remember where it was published (maybe V Magazine?) but you can read it here. The pictures were taken by Von Furstenberg and they included nudity. Warning. Nudity.

Andreea and her beauty routine... “I've been modeling for 10 years—since I was 13. I just saw my agent who scouted me way back when and it reminded me about how crazy that is. I've only been full-time for the past three years, though. I wouldn't have been able to keep up with all of this for a decade. In all that time, I've also become a lot more comfortable with what I do—not that I was ever uncomfortable, but it's easier as an adult. Coming from Bucharest, and growing up poor, it's just such a different world. But Romania is a lot more into fashion these days, so things are looking up! People are starting to dress more creatively. It's exciting to see. Now that I live in New York, I’m also studying Social Psychology at Western University—the online classes are perfect for long plane rides. I travel a lot during the week, and I feel like I have to be productive in other ways, and school is a really cool and interesting way to do that. STYLE Growing up in Romania has made me pretty frugal—right now I’m wearing $10 Levi’s from a vintage store in the East Village. This is my mom’s shirt. I still have the pair of Converse I got on my first modeling job—they weren’t cool in Romania yet and they just kept stretching with my feet. But I’ll go out and splurge sometimes... I recently bought two travel bags from Jil Sander—I don’t know why, but I did. I’m also buying my mom a house, and a car for my uncle in Romania. That’s really what I like to do. I’m waiting to buy a lot of new things for my New York apartment until I can settle down for longer; I need to be sure that it will all have a place and make sense for my life. SKINCARE My New Year’s resolution was to take better care of my skin—but I still don’t really have a plan for how to do that. Maybe by next year. [Laughs] Most of what I do involves putting moisturizer on because I get dry from the plane. Claudiale Premier Clu under my eyes is really good, and I like Décleor Rose Shooting Serum for the rest my face. I also use Chanel Hydra Beauty Serum as an extra layer in the winter, it smells wonderful. I use face mist all the time. My favorite is Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater—he’s Romanian! Or I use Heritage Store Rose Petals Rosewater, which is basically the same thing, just a lot cheaper. Claudiale Beauty Elixir is good if I need to wake up from feeling jet-lagged. But ultimately I’ll just use whichever one is next to me when I feel like I need it. There’s also use Shu Uemura Depsea Facial Mist... I love them all. I play a lot of water sports, so I have sunscreens everywhere. I use Korres Suncare [ed note: not available in the US] because it’s pretty inexpensive and it’s easy to have a bunch of them everywhere, or something simple like Banana Boat Spray—it’s so easy to put on. If I get a burn, I use Poppy and Sunday Neroli Blossom Serum to take care of it, which I found it at a general store in LA. They also do a nice salve called Sunshine Daydream—it has calendula flowers, cocoa butter, beeswax..it’s everything in one and works for whatever you need. Aesop Control is my go-to whenever I get a pimple on my face. Or I’ll use their B Triple C Facial Balancing Gel but it’s very, very, very rich. I put it on sensitive areas, only every now and again. MAKEUP The first time I wore makeup was for a job–it was Elle Girl in New York. I haven’t really learned much since, but my friends always ask me to do their makeup anyway. [Laughs] I was much more into it when I was younger. I don’t know what happened. My makeup routine is very minimal: concealer, blush, and mascara. I use Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in SC-3 under my eyes, and then anywhere the sun hits I’ll apply Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate with my palm—I don’t like seeing fingerprints on my face. If I’m going out somewhere at night and I know there’s going to be flash photography, I use this YSL Crème de Blush or Hoola Benefit because they’re matte—I don’t want to end up looking too shiny. The rest of my night look is Korres Organic Minerals Long Lasting Eyeliner [ed note: not available in US] in Brown because it's summer. Plus when I was younger I used black all the time, so now I’m kind of bored of it. I really like Tracie Martyn's Alma Purifying Cleanser to take all my makeup off at night. Everything she does is great. Usually I use it with Bioderma, but it does the job if I don’t have time to take the extra step. HAIR I have the Rodin Olio Lusso Luxury Hair Oil. But, I also like to use Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse on my hair if it’s frizzy. It’s nice for travel because it’s one thing that I can put everywhere. My shampoo and conditioner at home are from Avalon Organics, but I mostly use samples when I’m traveling. I just cut my hair, but no one notices because it grows so fast. I’ve had it cut three times, all recently—professionally at the salon, then at a shoot, and I just cut it myself yesterday. My mom’s hair used to grow at the same speed, but she told me it’ll stop when I turn 40, so I need to just enjoy it.” Source: http://intothegloss.com/2014/09/andreea-diaconu-model/ Photos by Tom Newton. One of the few models who talks so openly about her routine...It's tiring to read some interviews where models said they owe their looks (only) to genetics and some almond oil... <_< Not to mention all the junk food they eat...

I'm afraid I don't remember anything about this guy (I'm sure that Cats is not the kind of music I'm used to listen to. No offense, of course). But I really appreciate your kindness. And I had no idea about her tattoo. I had never noticed it. I'll wait for your return (I'll know more about this man finally). Enjoy your holidays, Veronika!

Thanks, Maria! When I saw the cover for the first time, I didn't feel very enthusiastic about it. But the editorial is good...I'd say eclectic. And she looks gorgeous with that darker hair.

Well, her "boyfriend" according to the magazine...The pictures suggest in no uncertain terms that something is going on between them but maybe it's nothing serious. Maybe "boyfriend" is too much. Who knows... Agreed. She looks awesome under the worst sunlight. You're welcome, Veronika. To be honest, I don't know a lot about her private life. In fact, I have no idea about the musician you mentioned. Who's he?
