I can't scan password protected archieves either. Can you scan the rest? After you chose to scan the hard drives, put a tick before scan archieves, and then push the "Play" button.
You don't need to disable that. It handles the hard drives and the removable media separately. Just don't scan the removable media, but scan the hard drives. That's the button on top right. And the one not to be pushed is the one under it.
When you choose what to scan, a little window comes up from the top of the main window. That is where you can set the thoroughness of the search, and you can also set it to scan archives.
