She did it in July of 2011, at the tail end of her contract. I don’t know if she had officially left VS at the time of the shoot, but she was not doing much for them anyway at that point.

Well, Adriana and Alessandra have both done stuff for Maxim while working with VS (if I recall correctly) and it didn't post a problem. Overall I think the problem with magazines like Stuff, Maxim, FHM and the like for a model of Candice's caliber is that they tend to "cheapen" her, but this seems to hurt more those models that are focused mainly on high fashion. Adriana has had various pictures of her posted in Maxim due to its annual hot 100 polls, but never any shoots are pics taken by Maxim itself, that I can recall. The same with Ale. She has had various pics posted in Maxim for the same reason, but no shoots. Now, Candice, Adrianna and Ale have all done GQ, which is far more prestigious. So, I definitely agree with you about the reputations of these publications and the view that it “cheapens” models of their stature. Candice did get covers for FHM South Africa in July 2010, but, this was right before her promotion to angel, which was also in 2010. So, my original question stands. I think VS would object.

No, not necessarily. The list and the cover shoot/girl are two different things. I would absolutely love (as would we all I’m sure) for Candice to do a cover shoot for them. Maxim would be crazy not to listen to its fans and pursue her. Although its likely they have already. I wonder if VS would have a say in something like that? ^ Thanks deynrose, you rock

^ You missed the point completely. We live in a hi-tech age where social media can create firestorms instantly. As such, we must all take care with what we do and say, especially high-profile individuals like Candice.

I can see this is going to get out of hand With all due respect to all of you ladies, you are not from here (the US), and are not familiar with the cultural norms. No one bashes Eminem, as he is universally respected and beloved for being a credit to the art form. It’s not just Candice’s features (thats actually a small part of it), its also the context that is turning many people off. Additionally, said criticism is coming form many anglo (white) Americans, so I doubt reverse racism is the issue. The artists in the videos are doing what they do for commercial purposes, and are not necessarily indicative of who they really are in person. In sum, Candice would likely be better off leaving this side of her off of social media (Donald Sterling anyone?). Anyway, thats all I have to say, this discussion needs to die.
