This is genuinely hilarious. As someone who was only subscribing to SI the last 5 or so years specifically because of this issue, they lost me with the body positivity direction. I’m just no interested in a large percentage of these girls. I cancelled sometime last year after the last issue. So now I can sit back and watch this train wreck and laugh. It’s too bad this thing won’t exist in a few years because they wanted to get Twitter applause from the people who hated the issue for its entire existence.

I kind of don’t want this debate to ever end. Please post more pictures of her boobs. I need more evidence!

By SI caliber I just meant in relation to the history of the magazine. They haven’t just moved towards casting additional body types. The seemingly stopped casting new models who would have been cast in years past. I haven’t seen a hailey clauson or a Nina agdal type. Never mind a young Kate upton. In a nutshell I think the current casting process would cast the current Kate upton but not the 18 yr old Kate upton that was actually a star.

Do they hire any traditional SI caliber girls anymore? Or will they just recycle the girls that were already on the “roster” while hiring tons of new body positive and IG models?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I don’t think what this photographer did was illegal. Maybe it should be but at this point Martha wouldn’t have much chance of stopping him aside from shaming him.

I think being live is interesting. I’m not positive it effects the ratings because when we are talking millions of viewers I don’t think enough people are seeking out vsfs info prior to the shows air date.

Agreed. Attention spans are short now. I guess I would say vsfs isn’t the only show struggling to come to grips with this. Everyone is.

Innovate how exactly? It’s lingerie runway show. It is what it is. That’s not to say they can’t improve things. My main point is that the ratings declines have nothing to do with the angels and any perceived slight towards one and pushing of another. The general public knows next to nothing of these girls.

Yea I won’t comment on the brand itself. I’m a guy and have no idea what the strength of brand is because I don’t purchase their merchandise and know nothing of the industry. But as to the show, i think the viewership can be mostly explained by the tv environment we are in.

It actually happens a lot. If you want to say this is a one off event compared to traditional shows that have multiple episodes that’s fine. I’m not sure how that manifests itself but ok. If if you want we compare it with something like the oscars which is a special event. That was down 20 percent year to year. Grammys were down 24%.

2 points. First, Taylor is going to kill in the opening. Why? Because 99% of the audience couldn’t tell the difference between the strongest walk and the weakest walk. Hardly anyone watching will give a shit about that. But what is undeniable is that Taylor is gorgeous and she’ll be wearing lingerie. That’s a recipe for success. As to the ratings. Ratings have been decreasing for every show on television for years. Viewership is down period for a variety of reasons having nothing to do with VS brand or marketing or anything VS controls. But if you want to keep telling yourself it’s because VS is not embracing your snowflake or because VS is choosing to push some model you hate then go ahead and keep telling yourself that.

Say what you will about jo being mad or tired. All I know is her tits steal the show every freaking time.
