no, not really. they created a new publication called swim daily. as the name implies, they need daily content. in recent years the sneak peaks from the shoots have become popular, so they went to the next logical step and showed even more of their casting process. (i imagine that youtube of lisalla's reveal last year might have played a role.) we still won't know who is in the magazine--we'll just have a slightly easier time playing the spot-the-mole/sherlock game. anyway, my point is that it would be very dumb of them to post "casting calls" of dozens of girls they have little to no intention of actually presenting in the mag, then have some separate, much larger, secret casting process that screens the models who will actually be in the issue. one, i think it would be dumb to have two separate approaches to casting, and two, if they do that, then next year no girl is going to want to have their casting call posted. and you guys keep saying this year's casting calls are horrible. i mean, look at the rookies in the most recent issue. someone from SI south africa, lesser-known VS models, etc. those were the kinds of girls in the pool they were casting from. and this year, there's...someone from SI south africa, some lesser-known VS models, etc. it's not like the casting call girls this year are of wildly different caliber than the 2013 rookies, or even the 2013 veterans. just with the 23 they've posted so far, you could put together a team of 5 that is better than julie, chrissy, genevieve, ariel, and jessica, easily. I wouldn't mind if SI did something similar to what Australia's Next Top Model is doing, revealing 50-100 of casting finalists and leaving the fans to figure out which models made the final cut. This of course would lead to interweb stalking of the models but the drama as to who made it and who didn't would be hilarious.

The thing is VS never distanced themselves from the comments Ms.Neophitou-Apostolou made. Those comments became a confirmation bias to some people as to why certain models don't walked for VSFS, and don't become Angels either. All they have to do is look at the casting choices for VS and the models that have become Angels to see that perception is reality.

I remember some people hating (that's word I will use people love to say that) on Karlie doing VS before Barbara started working for them too. The cognitive dissonance in this thread concerning Karlie and VS is interesting. There's always a reason behind the hate of a popular person. Brad and Angelina have haters because of the preception that Brad cheating on his wife (an actress with her own fanbase), with Angelina. Some people also hate them because they oppose their political viewpoints. Tiger Woods was hated on because he cheated on his wife with numerous mistresses. The Dixie Chicks was hated on because of what they said about the current president at the time. Kristen Stewart, Kanye West, Joe Paterno, etc, all had reasons for why they receive the hate they got. The only time internet love/hate is revelant is when it comes to voting on tv shows like AI, The Voice and things like the SI Rookie of the Year. That's when the internet is the end all be all for every thing and it's rigging if the results don't match up with who the various forums/YT/blogs love the most.

Tyra and Heidi left VS on their own terms, and I think it would be revisionist history to suggest otherwise. Tyra and Heidi both had television shows (Tyra had two of them!) and they had made the transition from model to television personality. Compare that to Miranda who lost her two main jobs because she wasn't showing up to work for them enough by their standards. Miranda loves being the center of attention of the paparazzi and it affected her ability to work.

Izabel and Selita have walked for the VSFS since their Angel contract end so Miranda can do the same thing.

Emily has one of the best bodies in the industry and she isn't afraid to show it. She was the start of that vidoe because of her energy and her body.

"Positive" trolling a thread with alot of "I love you ______ posts " can be just annoying as negative trolling. A poster can be labeled as a troll even if they gave detailed, rational, reasons about certain why they don't like a models work for VS just because other posters are offended by it. The majority of Barbara's VS work was for the main line. I liked some of her work but I though many of her photos were one note. Maybe one day it will be revealed why she didn't become an Angel. It's has been a trend that the recent Angels are American and they all have their issues. Some are criticizied for being bland (Erin, Lindsay), another for having a horrible runway walk (Lily), and others are polarizing figures because of their body is considered too skinny for VS (Chanel, Karlie).

All models have an ass but some models have an ass that can stand out. I personally love Behati's ass and Candice > Karlie in the ass department (even though Candice really just pokes her out).

Cara doesn't look like a footballers wife so there's a chance could be an Angel. I was being somewhat facetious about Cara being an Angel but the current regime over at VS would do something like that.

Maybe two of Karlie's friends Jourdan and Cara could be the next two Angels. Both of them can speak English, Jourdan would fill the black Angel spot, Cara has great energy and they both fit the direction that VS has been going in recent years with the models they choose to focus on.

VS should use Candice with her natural brunette hair color, I am pretty sure she would look better and it would look less blonde. VS does need more brunettes. the real blondes are Doutzen, Erin and Lindsay. I would like to see Candice with her natural hair color.

I would say that Chanel is more than just some unknown model that was campaigning for the Obamas. She started campaigning for the them months before the VSFS show. She contacted them through a friend of her that works for the First Lady. Chanel is no longer an Angel and that's apparent when she stopped appearing in commercials and going to VS events. Karlie is officially an Angel and congrats to her. I will feel like I'm watching and Saturday Night Live parody skit whenever I see her with Angels like Ale and Candice.
