  1. I know the reason for that. After 2005, there was a regime change at the VSFS. Alex de Betak and his creative team were out, and a new one came in. That's why the music hasn't been the same and the casting choices are sometimes head-scratchers. Do you think Alex would cleared some of the girls they've had recently if he was still heading creative for the show? They kept the same music producer and various other productions folks...I see them every year in the backstage videos, but the creative tone of the show has changed...and if you ask me, it was probably CBS who ordered it. And since the ratings have been climbing, it was probably for the best for not only CBS, but VS and the continuation of the show to be aired. However, I do miss the glory days of the show. 2002-2005 are classic viewing.
  2. azkid, thanks! And good to see you.
  3. Merry Christmas, Goobers! I have a little present for you lot. I left the same for TFS as well. It's an unedited version of VSFS 2010 from a couple of hand-cams (I'm assuming; it's not my footage). FYI, this is the entire show. Performances, runway, everything. It's over 30 minutes. The quality is not the best, even at 349MB, but this should provide some very delicious entertainment for you VS fans. Enjoy
  4. ^Could you please tell him to stop stating the bleeding obvious in the incessant, unnecessary commentary..?Much obliged! I don't think Hamish will ever stop doing that LOL It was his idea to add that to the show from the get go! Expect it this year in spades! I just hope that deep voice lady is back, "DRAMA DRAMA! WING WINGS! YOU DON'T STOP HER FOLLOWW HER FOLLOWWER." She was there last year. HA HA.
  5. I spoke to the director of VS Fashion Show, Hamish on Youtube yesterday. He told me that there would be some videoblog that he's doing about the show since it tapes next week. I wonder what kind of footage it would have. I'll be keep you posted.
  6. I think there should be a remix of Reflekt's Need To Feel Loved. Such a good song. Kill the lights by Britney Spears Waking Up In Vegas Remix by Katy Perry Umbrella Beach by Owl City I think there sticking with the same music guy, so I'm excited about that
  7. Well, good news, apparently the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show's ratings is going up as high as it's budget--this year it was nearly $15 million. Here's the story: "Undies special over-delivers for CBS 'Victoria's Secret' show averages a 3.6 in 18-49s By Toni Fitzgerald Dec 4, 2008 Whether it was the brief respite from the bum economy, the weak timeslot competition, or the promise of mancandy Usher driving them, viewers flocked to last night’s “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.” The CBS special averaged a 3.6 adults 18-49 rating, according to Nielsen overnights, up 38 percent over last year’s 2.6 rating and finishing as the night’s No. 2 program. The show won its timeslot among 18-49s and averaged 8.7 million total viewers, 1.3 million more than last year. It marked just the second time since the show’s debut in 2001 that its audience has grown year to year, after doing so in 2007 as well. The program featured a bevy of bra- and underwear-clad models as well as a performance by Usher." That's great! I'm really proud of them. BTW, if you haven't re-watched it and you still think the music is bad--try watching it with headphones, the music sounds so much better. I like it more now.
  8. Azkid, since I've been a member of this site, you have been the master. Thank you.
  9. Thanks to all who posted pictures! I love the runway--it looks so long, THANK GOD! Selita does look like Whitney Houston, though. LOL! I like it.

  14. Thank you for the background information, pikespeaklosangeles - always nice to put names to faces and disembodied voices! I can't help but completely disagree though - it's got to the point where I find it intolerable! Granted, the backstage shenanigans are interesting, and Hamilton is right in that respect. But I feel that it's sometimes to the detriment of the ACTUAL catwalk show. It's particularly galling when 'your' favourite model is sashaying in some brief little number and the camera cuts to a less-favoured girl pulling a stupid face in a corridor apropos nothing... And sure, let's see and hear the ladies backstage - let's not hear inane comments from Hamish and his pals stating the bloody obvious. 2005 was (as this thread is testament to) the best overall. The 'bad' editing has become much more prevalent in the last two years. I thought this year was an absolute mess. I want to watch the VSFS, not "The Contrabulous Fabtraption Of Kaiser Klum"! Don't need her being 'hilairious' all over the place - I'd rather have seen more of some of the others who were woefully underused and appallingly under-represented by the cameras. And I find the MTV Video Music Awards unwatchable too!!! Repeat viewing requires the sound being turned down.
  15. It would appear working backstage requires little more than blustering about and randomly shouting out superfluous orders in triplicate: "GO GO GO" "GET OUT OF THE WAY GET OUT OF THE WAY GET OUT OF THE WAY" "MOVE MOVE MOVE" "DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA" "WINGS WINGS WINGS" "WAIT WAIT WAIT" And I believe at one point your 'bete noir', Sam12, tells everybody to leave unless they are a model - which is fine in principle, but would make a rather bad fashion show, and a pretty pointless televisual experience... Also it's entirely necessary that after you have called out a model's name, somebody behind you then has to call it out again. Don't know why. You just HAVE to! There seems to be a need for exhortation. Perhaps these people have no other power in their lives and so relish this once a year opportunity to hear the sound of their own voices. To whit, the lady who needs KK "NOW NOW NOW", because she needs to "GO GO GO" and persists in this facade for a further minute and a half whilst a whole dance routine takes place and the model just remains standing there. Finally, after this set-piece somebody helpfully tells KK to "GO NOW" - why all this drama? That said, everybody ignores all of it anyway! But that's nothing compared to inane and vacuous comments from the disembodied editor voices. How's this for superfluous: "Ricky Martin, he's heavily back-lit guys, so let's play it that way"??? And this, when Karolina returns from her tour-of-duty: "Lovely, push it (Bri?), in the house. Lovely"? And why, pray tell, do we need to hear it? This reached it's apogee, as did so many negative attributes of the VSFS, this year with the following idiotic statement that the editors saw fit to unnecessarily share with us. Bear in mind that the model in question wasn't on stage, or even in the segment, just larking about backstage: "So major, Miranda. Major moment. Go for it baby." I mean the shows are probably all great (showboating by some models notwithstanding), but it's those bloody editors insisting that we are privy to their banal comments and that we see their mates self-importantly throwing themselves about in the wings with grandiose aplomb that is ruining it. I do not need to be spoon fed regarding every image I see: (Noemie Lenoir is already halfway down the catwalk, VSFS 2007) (First Voice): "Noemie's next." (Second Voice): "And give me Noemie." But even barking out nonsense in triplicate can take it's toll. The French sounding guy who is acting as some sort of 'fluffer' for the girls at the entrance to the catwalk even gets bored of it at the 2005 finale: "SMILING LAUGHING DANCING... (Um, what order?) DANCING SMILING LAUGHING (er - where was I up to?) LAUGHING?" Oh dear, I seem to have gone on a bit again! Anyway...
  16. cbs2 coverage vs05-1st taping.mpg - 11.87MB Since were celebrating VS05, I had this clip forever, so enjoy. Selita poses so much better in the first taping, as does Tyra and Heidi.
  17. The song sounds like "What's The Difference" by Dr Dre except without the rapping... but then there's some girl singing over it. Maybe they made a VS remix with that instrumental haha I don't know. Hot ad, I love how Adri is brunette again. She looks so much better than last year. I figured it out. It's Dirty Laundry by BitterSweet. ABC uses it alot for their promos.
  18. MTV Canada and Fashion TV cover Victoria's Secret 2007 Victoria's Secret PJ Party Commercial What is the name of that song in the PJ party ad--sounds familiar...
