  10. Yara Sayeh Shahidi (Persian: (یارا (سایه) شهیدی‎‎; Persian pronunciation: [jɑːɾɑː sɑːje ʃæhiːdiː]; born February 10, 2000) is an American actress and model. She is best known for playing Zoey Johnson on the sitcom Black-ish.Shahidi was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to a mother, Keri Salter Shahidi, of African-American and Choctaw descent, and an Iranian-American father, Afshin Shahidi, a photographer.The family moved to California for Afshin's work, when Yara was 4. She is the older sister of child actor and model Sayeed Shahidi, and they have a younger brother, Ehsan.The rapper Nas is their cousin.Keri Shahidi said the name Yara translates to "someone who is capable to do something, or someone is so strong and clever to do something hard" in Persian. On June 6, 2017, Shahidi announced that she will attend Harvard University. She began her career when she was 6 years old, appearing in television and print advertisements for companies such as McDonald's, Ralph Lauren, Target, GapKids, Disney, Guess Kids and The Children's Place. She frequently worked with her mother and younger brother in various print and broadcast campaigns. Shahidi made her cinematic debut in 2009, starring opposite Eddie Murphy in Paramount Pictures' Imagine That, for which she received a Young Artist Award nomination for the best performance in a feature film category.In 2012, she played Chloe Johnson, the daughter of President William Johnson, in the TV series The First Family. In September 2014, Shahidi starred in ABC's prime-time comedy Black-ish as 14-year-old Zoey Johnson.In December 2014 she won an NAACP Image Award in the category of 'Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy'. In 2016, she signed to model with New York's Women Management modeling agency, in hopes of providing a platform to see more women of color in diverse roles. ABC announced in 2017 that Shahidi would be headlining a Black-ish spinoff, Grown-ish on its sister network Freeform set to premiere in early 2018.

  20. Zuri Hall is a rising star -- the TV host/actress won her first Emmy one year after her college graduation, and has guest hosted for E! "Fashion Police" and Vh1's "Big Morning Buzz LIVE". Zuri is the newest TV host/personality at international pop culture powerhouse, MTV -- hosting specials like "Million Dollar Maze Runner" inspired by 21st Century Fox's major motion picture "The Maze Runner", and "Style in the City" with Girl Code star Carly Aquilino. All this in addition to her digital content creation (including her YouTube channel/lifestyle brand "Hey Zuri Hall!") - Zuri is well on her way to becoming a new media maven. Before MTV, Zuri hosted music countdown show "Trending 10" Live, every weeknight on cable music channel, Fuse - available in over 60 million homes, nationwide. Zuri has interviewed numerous celebrities including Iggy Azalea, Rita Ora, Grammy nominated pop stars Jason Derulo, B.o.B., and alt/rock band Paramore; her star-studded sit-downs are an eclectic variety - from the British girl group Little Mix to hip-hop heavyweights T.I. and Rick Ross. In the summer of 2012, major national cable network BET invited Zuri to serve as a guest correspondent on their flagship show "106 & Park". Before moving to NYC to host for Fuse, Zuri hosted two back-to-back live newscasts, every weeknight, for "Nightcap" - a fresh, fun evening news program on the CW affiliate in Dallas, TX. From Dallas, to Dayton, to Indianapolis - Zuri's eclectic background in broadcasting has a useful mix of hard news, on-stage work, lifestyle, and entertainment; she is as skilled off-camera with producing and editing, as she is on-camera. In addition to being the on-stage emcee and TV host for the 2012 Super Bowl "Village", Zuri kept crowds energized and entertained as an official emcee for the NBA Indiana Pacers, WNBA Indiana Fever, and the MiLB Indianapolis Indians from 2010 - 2012. Since 2011, Zuri has been the emcee for NCAA Womens Final Four "Tourney Town" entertainment events - in cities including Indianapolis, Denver, New Orleans, and this upcoming April in Nashville. Zuri has been featured in national spots for Value City Furniture, and commercials for Safe Auto, Meijer, Bluegrass Cellular and Ohio Tourism. Zuri has performed in numerous theatrical productions including the lead in "Wine in the Wilderness" and "Just Like Us" at her alma mater. Her print modeling work includes ads for Hollywood Casino (Penn Casinos) and a spread for the 2011 Bridal Issue of Capital Style Magazine. She received her Bachelor's degree in Strategic Communication with a minor in Theatre from The Ohio State University. Her passion for the entertainment and music industries has led to past internships with companies including Def Jam Records, The Mauldin Brand Agency, The Juice 107.3, and WCMH's morning TV show, Daytime Columbus.
